Bad Robot/Jonathan Nolan Bringing "Westworld" to HBO - Part 1

Im just curious what Delores plan is for outside the park. Humanity is much too large to be conquered by her small band of hosts.

We don't really know what the outside world is like now, though. It could be extremely vulnerable to a full-on Skynet situation at this point, lol. Or even a BSG/Cylon situation, if AI "helpers" (just less sophisticated than the Westworld ones) are becoming commonplace out there.

Ngl i dont know if i like shogun world. It looked cheap! Still love maeve though <3

I don't think Dolly is fully aware of what she is expecting to find out there in the real world. I suspect she's well out of her depth, but she simply doesn't (yet) have the knowledge necessary to factor that in.

Truth be told, if [the outside world] wanted too, they could just extract the human population of Westworld and then nuke the place. I guess the investment is too costly for that though!

Judging by what we observed in the flashbacks, the Westworld (and by extension, Shogun World) hosts are exclusive to the organisation behind them. William's brother-in-law seemed amazed by them, so I doubt they're common place.

That's why I said "less sophisticated than the Westworld ones," because people were obviously dazzled by that level of realism and "humanity" in their AI, but that doesn't mean relatively advanced AI isn't a common thing out there. Westworld's is just clearly next-level. The reason I drew the BSG comparison was because I was imagining the difference between the "skinjobs" and "toasters" in that show.

Hasn't it been like 30 years since William and Logan went to the park? A lot can happen in that time.

Well, Delos had been burning money...

Sorry, I must've misread.

I guess there are older hosts (or AI's) in the real world, but presumably they'd be built different and capable of a lot less. Whatever programming Dolly and Maeve have enabled within them would probably be far too much for the processing ability of older AI's and/or models, so I doubt Dolly and co would be able to convert or control them all.

Ultimately, all it would require (seemingly) is coding; if Maeve can overwrite the other hosts by voice command, or even by merely looking at them and thinking, then there must be some wireless element to them - we kinda' know there is for the updates anyway.

If they escaped into the real world, surely all someone need to is create a virus to shut them down then upload it to wireless, and that's the end of them all.

They did the virus thing already in Humans. :(

I saw episode 2x01 and for some reason I'm very confused. Can someone tell me something (spoilery or not, doesn't matter) that would make the following episodes easier to watch/understand? Like "what happens in x is before y" or something along those lines. Please, thank you.

just continue to watch it will clear out. I had same experience and by last episode it was easy to follow.

Check out Alt-X's other videos too. Hes got a bunch of Westworld and Game of Thrones videos.

The score for this show is amazing.

Nothing will ever touch Game of Throne's ''Light of the Seven'' (imo) but I honestly think that Ramin Djawadi's best work has been in Westworld than Game of Thrones.

Well, and here I thought we wouldn't actually be seeing Anthony Hopkins in any capacity this season.

I knew it was happening when [BLACKOUT]I saw the greyhound[/BLACKOUT]. :woot:

I just knew it didn't fit, not who it belonged to. :) But it dies mean my guess was right about who Bernard was recreating into the red ball. So now we know who's messing around in the Cradle.

OH MY GOD!!!
That ending was so well done! I knew the second I saw the dog but I still gasped! i hope they will keep him around for a while Hopkins' performance is the best thing about the show.

And I love that they are giving Ed Harris opportunity to show off his incredible range this season.
That scene with him and Grace was lovely

I couldn't agree more. :D

Also James Marsden was incredible in this episode! Such a change in his performance, so effortlessly

Some of the CGI looked very off this week... surprisingly so
