I get it though. They are supposed to be free now but he really isn't, she is just as in control of him as the humans were.I find it fascinating that evil Teddy seems resentful of the changes Dolores made. Which, given what was changed, is not a great thing for her...
Passive aggressive Teddy is the best. Even Dolores was a bit shook.

I don't have Twitter. What's being said?ERW is lashing out on twitter. While I agree if someone like Maeve was a dude the audience wouldn't dislike this character as much as some do, this does not apply to Dolores.
Dolores earned her empathy throughout the first season, but I also think episode 2 of this season put it all into rather obvious perspective. I also think it is a fair to ask, considering everyone loves William. The most evil man this side of Ford.
Dolores has quite a bit of early Root to her. That burdened with glorious purpose/I know everything, thing going on. And I rather love it. Especially when you see how she reacted to new Teddy. That was very... damn.
I root for her. I root for her, Bernard and Elsie the most. I feel like they have made it clear what she has been through, and what she is burdened with. The Teddy scene was clearly framed as her making a tough choice. It is why she reacts the way she does.My point is - are we supposed to be rooting for her? Are we supposed to be viewing her as hero? ERW says yes. Well OK then:
1. We are getting reminders of Maeve, Teddy and Clem's suffering, not Dolores'
2. The scene where she turns Teddy. Was this framed as her doing something villainous? I think so. ERW thinks it was Dolores making a tough choice to save Teddy
3. I don't think she is even sentient, like Maeve is. So again, why root for her if this is just her programming stuck in Wyatt's persona?
I agree with Wood that there'd be much less hate is Dolores was a dude. But she compares Dolres to MiB. Yeah, wrong call. ERW is a fine actress but she is not Harris. MiB would be boring, cliche character in s1 if it wasn't for his charisma and acting. She is making a lot of points in her tweets and she goes against people who like Maeve and Maeve as character. Yeah....not a great thing to do.

What do you mean you don't think she is sentient? What gives you that impression? She solved the maze and she seems able to see things the others can't. If she is just Wyatt, why the situation with her father?
The show is full of fantastic actors, but if you asked me who was during the best and most difficult job, it would be her. Harris I would argue isn't doing the heavy lifting with William, as much as I love him in the role. That would be Simmons, who garnered the sympathy for the character, through Dolores. This season they have switched roles in that regard.
Also, I adore all these characters, but Maeve is interesting, in that she is basically showing herself the most selfish of the lot. If she is sentient, it is odd she is is so set on her programming. She is also responsible for more unneeded death then even Dolores. And why? Because she wants her "daughter" back?
I also think that Delores is WAY more sympathetic than William/MiB ever was. What's William's great tragedy? That he realized the robot he fell in love with was actually a robot and none of what was happening was actually real (even though he should have known all that going into it)? Boo ****ing hoo. If that gives him free reign to be a sociopath then Delores suddenly realizing that her entire life has been a fabrication gives her a LOT more justification for her actions than what William experienced.
As for who is the better actor; I mean, Ed Harris is a legend but I would agree that ERW is doing more difficult work here on the show. She's gone from the naive farmer's daughter to the cold, ruthless rebel leader and the transition has felt flawless. William (Ed Harris' William, that is) has pretty much stayed an evil SOB the entire time. We've had glimpses of humanity from him and he does it all really well but overall, his character has been pretty static.
