Bad Robot/Jonathan Nolan Bringing "Westworld" to HBO - Part 1

Just 2 episodes in but I feel this season has been a huge step up from S3.

I really need to rewatch season 3, I still feel lost.

Good to see a confirmation and to know they stick to the original five-season run plan. I was afraid HBO would cancel it and not give us a proper ending. Is it just me or does the production quality seems at a lower standard this year?
Basically all the attention on Westworld seems to be at a lower standard. I feel like I've seen less ads and marketing in general for Westworld season 4 than I have for other HBO shows this year like Euphoria, Barry and even Winning Time. I had forgotten that it was even coming back until a few days before the season premiere last Sunday. When Westworld first came out HBO was basically treating it as if it was the next Game of Thrones-level juggernaut but audience interest just hasn't been the same since then.

...this should have opened the season, way stronger of an episode.

I thought they just gave Lisa/Jonah a s5, s6, and a s7 - last year?
No, but there was talk of six seasons during Season 3. But then Jonah and Lisa said it wasn't true.

'Westworld' Season Finale: Showrunners on Dolores, End of the Series - Variety
Nolan: Well, I just want to clarify, you know, Lisa and I have never actually talked about a number of seasons. James Marsden mentioned five [seasons] in the first season when we were on hiatus, and more recently there’s been reporting about deals and other stuff like that. But we’ve never actually talked out loud about how many seasons we imagine this thing going, because I think you’d be foolish to. Things change, circumstances change.

All I thought when I saw this. lol

Been watching season 3. I'm really enjoying the story they are telling but I wish Lisa and Jonathan hadn't used the Westworld property to tell it. They've completely reduced the parks to an afterthought, and wasted the property.

I hope they do a spinoff that is actually about the parks or someday do a reboot that focuses on the parks. An anthology series and each season being set in a different themed park would be cool.

I finished season 3, and started season 4.

The war is over and 7 years have passed.

Dolores is alive somehow and is now some random person.

Caleb has a wife and kid.

Charlotte has turned into Countess Bathory.

William has turned into the Pestilence Horseman of the Apocalypse, possessing people with flies. He's replaced 249 congressmen. And look there! Now he's killed and replaced the VP of America.

I feel like I missed 1 or 2 seasons.

So I'm guessing ....
..Dolores is in the Sublime in a world of her own making? It explains why Teddy is there.

Gonna bet that Stubbs and Bernard are in a future timeline and are with an adult Frankie (Caleb's daughter),
Huh, hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense considering how dusty Bernard was.

Yeah, I'm going with this for now...

Caleb's co-worker mentioned it's been 7 years since the events of Season 3.

Frankie is around 7 years old.

Bernard sees this shot of a deserted Golden Age/Temperance in the Sublime:

Bernard returns and Stubbs never specifies how many years it's been.

They meet a character played by 27 year old Aurora Perrineau.

We're in a 20 Years Later timeline.
