:hmr:

She was also super hot in Creed.

This show is getting better and better with each episode.

This was an intense episode, that's for sure, felt like a lot was revealed and a lot of theories possibly laid to rest

Well, cleary those two guys are too f***ing dumb to know how to do their jobs, so it's not surprising they forgot how to control her
Seriously, I felt like I was watching these two bumbling dip****s set off the robot uprising in this episode, it actually kind of annoyed me; when they do rise up, I want it to be because of Arnold or whoever else's meddling, not two pervy jackasses doing it by accident.

And note that Maeve didn't actually hurt either of them, if I was bearded dude I'd have said "bulls**t, you can't hurt me, I'm alerting the higher ups" and make her at least prove her threat was real

I'm sorry, I couldn't stop shouting at my TV while watching this... apparently I can't stop now either lol

See, this is the problem with this show for me. There's no logical reason Maeve couldn't have been switched off. In fact when you have it in the back of your mind a lot of what's going on can be fixed by hitting the off switch a lot of the tension and drama goes away. If Teddy gets branded what difference does it make? He's not real. How can the Man in Black be in any real danger if he can't get shot? If Maeve becomes aware why have an entire conversation talking with her when you can just shut her down and decommission her?

Because one of the problems Maeve is showing is that she isn't able to be turned off.

Felix and Sylvester don't exactly come off as the sharpest tools in the shed

Maeve has figured out how to turn herself back on, so "turning her off" will only help for a couple seconds.

How come no one noticed them when she was being given a tour of the upper floors? Wouldn't it be weird for one of the hosts to be roaming around the halls and not inside one of the rooms where they were being tested?

The doofus was attempting to make it look like he was leading Maeve around with his little tablet computer. Anyone that saw them probably just assumed he was doing something on the job. If one of the bigwigs wouldhave seen them tho questions would have probably been asked.

that's why he was following her around with the tablet thingy to look like he was controlling her, if he was questioned he probably would have just claimed he was practicing his programing skills, or testing her motor function or something

Yeah, he was basically following the tried-and-true "clipboard rule". Walk around while looking down at a clipboard (or tablet in this case) and you can basically sneak around anywhere.

Plus, I'm sure it isn't unusual for the various Westworld techs to move the hosts from place to place for whatever reason in such a fashion. Since the hosts can walk, it's not like the techs will always need to physically carry the hosts or wheel them around in carts, and it isn't like Maeve was wandering around on her own unattended.

Thank you! That was the only thing I couldn't buy completely, how they just walk around but this explains it.

As for why Sylvester and Felix didn't turn her attributes down Nolan says we will see why in episode 8

My wife and I finally watched the first few episodes Tuesday night. Plowed through the next four last night. Love it love it love it. Quite a bit going on, but it all feels connected. This has shot to the top of my favorites list.

One of those times where the delay to filming actually was a good thing instead of a sign it was a disaster.

Wow that final scene was one of the most chilling scenes Ive seen on television.

Yup, another fantastic episode. Glad they confirmed that theory.

Kinda surprised they revealed it this early into the series.

They're saying that season one is basically a prequel to the actual show, so the reveal will likely play a big role in the coming seasons.

A big thing it sounds like you missed is that Maeve can't be shut down, or at least when she is, she can wake back up. The two workers also have to worry about their jobs; they've stumbled down the rabbit hole and everything they've said and done is being recorded by Maeve. If they decommission her they'll only reveal themselves when she is put through diagnostics. They're also falling into the trap of thinking of her as an actual person instead of a robot they have (weakening) control over.

The drama around the Man in Black isn't really about whether or not he's in danger; it's about if and how he will get the answers he's seeking. But it could be said that after this episode, its proven that hosts can kill people, so that risk is there for something to go wrong.

In any case, the "lack of any real danger" is an interesting thing; it's a meta theme of the show. We as viewers are watching fiction within fiction. We know that Game of Thrones isn't real, yet feel for and worry about the characters; there's no reason one can't worry and fear for the hosts as they navigate their plots.

The reveal was excellent.

Maeve continues to be a boss. I love how afraid those two idiots are of there.

Ha, I'm glad I subscribed to that theory just a few days ago so I could have that "I knew it!" moment. :D

The reveal was very well done, though. Maeve remains awesome.

God damn can Anthony Hopkins still bring it. He can scare you when he isn't even playing a serial killer.

[BLACKOUT]The Bernard reveal was to be expected. To me, his backstory wasn't fitting with what we had been hearing about the real world. But damn, what a way to reveal it. Though the real surprise was that the first murderbot was Bernard. I do hope Elsie is okay. Now the real question is, is it really Bernard having his meetings with Dolores, or someone else...

It is nice to get the full view of what the corporate espionage was about. And what the real interest the corporate backers are interested in.

And the stuff with Maeve continues to be great. Can't wait to see what happens when she tries to get out. [/BLACKOUT]

Also, I'm now completely convinced that [blackout]Bernard is host-Arnold. That room where he was having his meetings with Dolores (presumably in the past) was totally the basement from the end of this episode, but without the machinery.[/blackout]

Yep! Looks like Nolan is splitting that reveal into two and we just saw the half of it.

Missed MiB in this episode but other than that it was great, I wonder how Ford is going to explain what happened to others it's not like he can say
she slipped and fell in his creepy experiment basement
