The final moments were friggin' spectacular. VERY curious on where they'll go with S2.

Long live the rebellion! It seems everything right now is going in that direction - they couldn't have timed this better if they tried going forward.

The park, like in the film, breaks down. I think it will follow similarly, but unsure if the humans or machines win there... I know there were sequels past the original 'Westworld' though.

The ancient Japan (China?) is another 'world.'

10/10 Finale. Just excellent and satisfying across the board. Wraps up Season 1 as a fantastic standalone piece, while hinting at new and exiting directions for Season 2. Bravo Jonah.

Also...I trust everyone caught that post-credits scene?!

The expression on Williams face in the last scene...glorious.

That was amazing.

The Wyatt reveal was great. And when Dolores switched back to Wyatt mode, amazing. Can't wait to see Evan Rachel Wood's performance next season.

Kind of disappointed that William is MiB, but the reveal was great. As was his evolution that was shown. I was waiting for Dolores to go Wyatt on him, and kind of disappointed that she didn't flip all the way. But man, his reaction at the end was great. Even after getting shot, he knows he got what he wanted.

Clearly, security isn't the failsafe it was supposed to be. So many dead from just 2 murderbots. And I am curious who was manipulating Maeve. I am guessing someone else was trying to steal the code. Probably something for next season, as she broke with her program to find her child. Also begs the question, where was Least Hemsworth.

Still, Felix's moment of self doubt at finding Bernard was just great, as was Maeve's reaction.

I want to see Samurai World

First reaction to this season as a whole...I think this show has a lot better ideas than execution. The acting is great and I think the storylines are cool for the most part (I really wish I didn't know any of the fan theories. Tried to avoid them, but I got got)
I just fear this is going to be like GoT with me, where after a few seasons I wont care about any of the characters.
I mean after the finale: [BLACKOUT]William is The Man in Black who is fun to watch but isn't necessarily likeable, Anthony Hopkins who I thought gave the best performance is dead (maybe he'll be back as a robot), Delores is Wyatt, Maeve's storyline just kinda annoyed me too much to like, Teddy is coo[/BLACKOUT]

And The post credit scene was dumb. Baby town frolic
[BLACKOUT]He literally had her dead to rights. He's seen her kill and he doesn't fire his gun?[/BLACKOUT]

Very curious to see where the next season ends up.
[BLACKOUT]If I had to guess, it'll pick up not long afterward and it'll take place over a small period of time be about people trying to escape the park[/BLACKOUT]

EDIT: Show also I think didn't follow its own rules it set up like at first guests could be hurt but then they can get punched, kicked, etc.

Also what was with The Man in Black's backstory? I mean the one where [BLACKOUT]he claimed he came into the game just to see if he was evil after his wife killed herself [/BLACKOUT]

Damn... that was amazing.

So mad that Maeve got off of the train.

Also, I like that even though the Maze/William twist was completed... it wasn't the "end all-be all".

Samurai World, Ford realizing Arnold was right after all, and then slaughter-town towards Delos. **** that was beautiful.

Plus, all of the Radiohead.

Bravo... Nolan Bro (plus Lisa)... Bravo.

I'll put in my final thoughts. I think this show has a lot of interesting concepts intertwined with some dumb plot devices in order to cause the chaos that eventuates, and that to me is a big mark against this. There are certain things I'm willing to suspend disbelief for, but when characters do stupid and illogical things and previous things set up in older episodes are ignored in future episodes that's when you'll lose me. It's hard not to criticise when you take shortcuts to get from point A to point B. Overall, this show had the potential to be something really great, but it's struggle to follow its own rules makes it frustrating to watch.

^ This is pretty much how I feel. For all its potential, it never reaches the heights of the first episode again.

I read someone calling S1 a "prequel to the actual show" or something like that, so I'm hoping they live up to it all next time.

Still... eh.

Well, my my. :D I rather enjoyed that finale. Too bad we have so long for more.

Great first season, but as with most of Jonah Nolan's stuff, he chooses style over logic. Case in point, Logan and William. William can't kill Logan with any of the guns in the park. I suppose he could knife him but Logan could probably avoid that if he just ran away or better yet, hopped on a horse and took off. And the park is supposed to have security measures in place to keep crap like that from happening. Yet despite all that, Logan let's William drag him around on a rope and later makes him strip naked and ride a horse. Why, exactly? He poses no real threat to him. Although William ultimately takes over the company, Logan doesn't see that coming. There's no reason why Logan doesn't just say, "F*** this" and leave him behind.

It's a nitpick, but this show has had a lot of moments like this where logic flew out the window for the sake of a shocking or dramatic scene. Another example may be Maeve controlling Bernard, though they may have explained how this was possible in the finale. I'm not sure if that was another part of Maeve's new "script" or not. Because if it wasn't, then it doesn't make sense how Bernard was never affected by people giving the robots commands when he was in the room.

Westworld: Season 2 Will Be Defined by Chaos

Westworld ended Season 1 on a major turning point, and the creators of the show explained in a segment following the episode on HBO Go how Season 2 will explore the fallout of that.

"If the first season was defined by control, the second season is defined by chaos," said co-showrunner Jonathan Nolan during the episode's "The Big Moment" segment. "That's part of what we come to understand Ford has been planning all along."

The big question remaining after the finale is what Ford's true motives are, and Nolan promises that will be a key focus in Season 2.

"Ford has set in motion what he thinks is a plan. The nature of that plan is something we explore in the second season," said Nolan. "What his intentions are: [BLACKOUT]are they to let Dolores or the other Hosts escape? Are they simply to teach the human guests a lesson?"[/BLACKOUT]

Added executive producer J.J. Abrams, "What happens at the dawn of consciousness? What happens when you begin to actually wake up?" Co-showrunner Lisa Joy reiterated the unanswered question behind the Hosts' uprising, saying, "Is it consciousness? Is it programming? Is it awareness?"

[BLACKOUT]Though Dolores finally reached the center of the "maze" and realized the voice in her head was her own, it's still unclear if she simply is acting on Ford's direction. [/BLACKOUT] The same goes for the other major Host characters in the show, particularly Maeve. There's also the question of [BLACKOUT]what comes next for the Hosts now that they seem to have achieved consciousness.[/BLACKOUT]

Evan Rachel Wood reflected about what comes next for her character, saying, [BLACKOUT]"If Dolores is the oldest, this girl has seen three lifetimes of pain and trauma. I would think there would be only so much one can take, whether you're human or not."[/BLACKOUT]

Westworld: Season 2 isn't expected to air until 2018.

That was wonderful. And Elise is totally alive.

Amazing finale, the ending completely surprised me! Ford surprised yet again so it seems he wasn't the evil villain after all...

Great episode overall...

Also I gotta say Ingrid Berdal was badass.

You don't consider him an evil villain?
He allowed his robots to murder a bunch of humans, and didn't care that they may destroy humanity. He's an insane villain.

From the robot perspective he isn't. He waited for them to be able to be free. And I think you are supposed to root for the hosts, at least this was Nolan's idea here.

Who doesn't love Ed Harris?

The man is incredible. He is badass. You look up cool in the dictionary, and it says Ed Harris.

Nice Kansas City Shuffle. Plenty saw William as MiB coming, but the real twist was Dr. Ford. Incredible finale, incredible season.
