Bane Casting Thread

As far as Bane goes if he is reintroduced as a villain in the Batman solo reboot franchise then who would be your pick for who you would want to see in the role? I know for me personally Tom Hardy he was perfect as Bane as far as the Nolan trilogy goes but since this is a new Batman franchise who should play the next Bane?

Nathan Jones as the next Bane, he would be perfect now don't you agree?

Cliff Curtis is my pick. One of the most underrated actors of his generation.

No normal person will get as jacked up as comic book Bane but most if all can reach a Tom Hardy physique.

But can Rodrigo Santoro pull off a Tom Hardy like physique? Or could Cliff Curtis or any other actor for that matter? Probably if they really work at it but if anything Nathan Jones but how about Joe Manganiello as Bane?

As for physique, whoever they cast, he will have to gain some weight and muscle mass, so if an actor does not live up to standards of Bane's physique currently, it is not an issue. He will.

And I agree with Harry Dresden that they should cast an actual latino actor this time.

I always pictured Matthew Willig in the role after seeing him in Dexter.

I kinda like the Javier Bardem idea , too. I could picture him menacingly saying " I will be the one to break the Bat " or something along those lines .

You could always cast one actor to play a normal sized bane, and another to play a bigger one and have the main actor voice him. Or just cgi enhance someone

I'd be okay with casting a bodybuilder/stuntman for the physicality and a real actor for voiceover work. Does Bane necessarily even have to unmask in a movie or series of movies?

While there's no need to see Bane's actual face, I'd still prefer we just relegate the role to an actual actor only. I'm not a fan of having a bodybuilder/stuntman step in. Especially when we have a good amount of actors capable of meeting the physical demands required to portray Bane.

I'd at least want an actor trained in mime if they wanted to go for his physique first; I'm not interested in a Bane who looks good if that's it. If they can't find someone capable of acting without a mask, than at least make sure that the voice actor isn't doing all the work.

I don't think physique is that important, sure the guy has to have some muscle on him but not to the point of Mr Olympia. They can lots of tricks with cinematography these days, I believe Tom Hardy was only about 90kg in TDKR but he looked pretty huge even with his shirt off.

Don't have a lot of ideas for a casting but no WWE guys please lol.
