Hey don't be a dick dude. Just saying. I had the same reaction when I watched Iron Man 2 and Mickey Rourke's character went up against Iron Man practically half naked. Seemed silly and ridiculous to me.

That's not remotely the same though. Bane is not a normal guy that is taking on a heavily armored Batman equipped with repulsors. For christ's sake, Ra's had no trouble fighting him. Having some protective gear doesn't make Batman an unbeatable badass. Normal, well trained people can take him. And someone like Bane, who's great in hand to hand and also pumped up on Venom, shouldn't have much trouble at all.

Who would you have cast? There isn't a known actor out there with Bane's literal physique, especially one that can act as good as Hardy (or at all).

I like the armor suit concept here, it's probably the best suggestion we've seen thus far. And I also agree that showing him with his bare-arms is a much more iconic way to go. If we do have the Venom story (and I'm willing to bet we will), it will be great for the scene where he's fighting Batman. But generally, Bane's appearance does not have to be the same in every single scene, he's no Joker, and I expect him with and without the mask a lot in most scenes. Oh and I think we won't have the red eyes, no matter how much I love em. What's more important is what Tom Hardy will add to the character, he won't want to wear that mask all the time, so lets see.

I'd love for the fight with the Mutant Leader from The Dark Knight Returns to be adapted into the fight with Bane, for Rises.

Imagine Bale's Batman telling Hardy's Bane, "Okay boy...show me!".

I said the same thing somewhere & I also thought that Selina could replace Carrie & help save him just in the nick of time (he could have been chasing her b4 bane gets in the way & she's torn as to help or not) & with alfreds help, get s him back to the cave & during his recovery thy form a relation ship.

That what I've wanted to seen something like that since the end of TDK, I want to see him beaten & broken to the point that no ordenary man could come back from, but he does 'coz he's a true hero, he's the Batman.

I all so would mind taking a little from 10 nights of the Beast, thoses parts were he has self doubts from the 1st time & express to Alfred that hey may have met someone thats better at this game then him.

The Joker fought Batman wearing a purple suit in The Dark Knight and somehow managed to not get taken out in 3 seconds.

A character such as Bane in body armour with his arms exposed isn't going to destroy the immersion.

Instead of a mask, how about face paint?

way too Joker, How about sort of Maori styled prison tatts, however I don't see the problem people are having with the mask, it fits in perfectly with what Gordon s said about escalation at the end of begins & Bane was designed as the Anti-Batman in the 1st place so why not? Psychologically it adds to his intimidation & makes it harder for an opponent to read his face, plus there was no good reason that the high tec ninja at the end of begins to wear those outfits other then they looked cool. Super powers & immortality may not fit into the Nolinverse, but masks absolutely do.

I've been wanting Bane in this movie from the get-go, so I'm pretty stoked right now. Enough to bring me back to the boards anyway. t:

Thinking back to Bane in Knightfall, I can definitely see Hardy's resemblence to the character while unmasked. Give Hardy a military-style flat top and he's pretty close.

While some of the pic of Bane in body armour look cool, something just occurred to me, why would someone whose plan is to take down someone that doesn’t even carry a gun even need so much it the first place, when it would slow him down quite a lot????

It doesn’t make a lot of sense. Batman wears it ‘coz he is out numberd most of the time by people that carry, however Bane is a narcissistic super alpha male that gets off on the challenge & the danger.

Though it would be cool for him to do like the Predator at the end of the 1st 1 & strip it of in a macho display b4 his 1st battle with Batman.

Darth Vader made a huge impression in Star Wars in his first appearance when he was lifting Rebel dude by the neck, choking him out effortlessly. He didn't have to show his 'MUSCLES'. (OR bio-mechanical parts).

But I do like Bane going 'Arnold' by the way of Predator by the end of 'TDKR'.

Okay, I'm liking this. I really hope that if Bane has tubes though, that they aren't popping out. A guy as smart as Bane should realize how much of a weak point that is.

Also, I can't remember, but is Bane opposed to using guns?

Just read Knightfall and I have to say I quite liked Bane's plan. It could work (altered, obviously) for TDKR. However, the way he deduced Batman's identity was ridiculous. If Nolan were to touch upon that, he needs to vastly improve it.

Bane may have limited potential (I'll be checking Vengeance of Bane 1 and 2 afterwards, and then other stories with him), but he can very well work for one movie.

I love this! Hardy would look silly if he were just wearing a tank top or wrestler type suit. He's just not big enough and considering the movie's going to be filmed very soon, he's probably not getting back up to Bronson size either. So covering him in armor is good idea. This is a great concept.

I agree.

It's too bad a big muscle bound villain hasn't been established yet, or even a Killer Croc type. My favorite moment of the BTAS series was when Batman found Croc after Bane kicked the **** out of him and then saw what he did to his car. As a kid being introduced to Bane for the first time, that was such a "wow" moment.
