He's have to gain at least 85 lbs to play the role respectively. To do that means that he'd have to weight train intensely for at least 2 years and that will only work if he has the genetics to gain that kind of weight.

We need somebody big already who can also act for it to work.

i disagree. I don't think Bane in Nolans versions needs to be the steroided our monster he is in the comics. Del Toro would just need to bulk and gain maybe about 15 pounds of muscle mass and he would look plenty intimidating IMO. We need a good actor first and foremost!

He's way too skinny, it'd take him years to get as big as Bane even on steroids. Yeah, Del Toro should play Bane just because he is Latin american. LMAO, Danny Trejo would do a better job!!!



Show me a movie where he acts in and I might just consider this "no proof to back it up" bull.

I disagree with you, the Bane needs to be at the very least very large - think NFL Linebacker (or The Rock) sized. Del Toro has no chance to get there with out illegal substances.

I think it would be cool if Bane could be Russian or German in the movie, that way we could get Nathan Jones to play him and do the voice, or someone like Moeller doing the voice. I just like that accent better. Anyhoo, lundgren could be cool in the role if the character was not spanish, because he has a great voice and face(shouldn't be shown IMO), but he's not big enough IMO. Sure he's like 6'5'' and looks around 220-230, at least from his latest movie The Russian Specialist, but that NOT big enough. For me I'd ultimately pick Nathan Jones, and have some rich sounding spanish voice dubbed over his mouth movements. Ever since I saw First Strike, I wanted Jones as Bane, and I think he would work wonderfully!

Watch some of his stuff, he is pretty good. He is by no means among the greats in Begins like Oldman, Bale, Caine, Freeman etc, but he is a good, solid actor. The best big guy actor you will find outside of Michael Clarke Duncan.

I'm not all for changing character's backgrounds or histories or anything of that sort. Of course know one knows for sure what nationality he is...we do know that his father was british (King Snake) and his wife was some south american woman.

in reality, if the guy is bulky, he doesn't really have to be that tall. MCD wasn't THAT tall in The Green Mile, but camera tricks made him absolutely enormous. You could do the same thing for Bane. I wouldn't mind the Rock. His first few movies (i.e. the scorpion king), his acting was TERRIBLE. I barely made it through. But he has done a pretty decent job recently (I thought his acting was actually pretty decent in Doom, all things considered). I wouldn't mind seeing him.

Dalip Singh is probably the best choice in terms of physical appearence. He's a really big guy, not just some overpumped steroid user. Even if he has poor english, his voice could be overdubbed. I don't even see him talking that much anyway.

I have to agree with him, The ROck isnt a terrible actor, but its less about talent and more about screen presence. The Rock has incredible screen presence the kind that made Arnold Shwartaneggar a star. He could work as Bane although he's not top choice.

For Bane, they shoul;d prolly find the biggest guy they can and dubb him because as someone has said BAne is very smart and strategic. Unlike the dumb monster in Batman and Robin. I could see Del Toro do the voice over but he couldnt be under the mask.

Statham is no where near Bane, but he could work as Killer Croc although i like Mickey Rourke for the part a lot more.
