The big problem with Bane is finding an actor who's that big and has the acting chops.

I say hook Javier Bardem up to some venom.

I think the only way I would want to see Bane is if they did Knightfall. A lot of people want to see him in different capacities, but in my opinion, he was created in the comics specifically to break Batman, so just having him as a villian with a different storyline would be stupid, to me at least. And to do Knightfall correctly, it needs to spread out over a few movies, which they won't do in this series, so I wouldn't like to see Bane.

I think that TDK and BB have proven that you don't need to stick exactly to a certain story-line to do justice to the character.

^^^the characters in those movies weren't created for one certain purpsoe (although the joker was supposed to be a one-shot deal). they have plenty to work from and the roles they had in the movies were a general overview of their history (or some of the potential mayhem that they could create). bane was created to break the bat, so to include him in some other capacity wouldn't make sense to me.

now, IF he is used, and in a different way, and they do a good job, i will gladly eat my words.

Who's to say that it couldn't be his goal in the movie still? They can take elements of certain stories and use anything, just like they cherry picked from Long Halloween.

I'm with Frodawg on this one. Bane isn't like a Joker or Two Face in that the character can be introduced through whatever storyline you might like. He's completely tied to this one storyline, which a film version is never going to do justice to.

Why are people picking awful actors to play Bane just because they are big? At least keep him a Spaniard. Keep him JAVIER BARDEM.

Bane should be played by a bulked up Javier Bardem or a bulked Benecio Del Toro. End of debate....

i dont think that a really good actor is needed for this role(...besides he wears a mask....)especially not when he is just a bully or the bodyguard for the main villain...

then cast a real actor to do a voice over

I mean, by the time you put one of these actors, in some type of body suit, or enhance them with cg,... and cover there face with a mask, how much of there actor, other then just their voice, is going to show through, anyway?

Because it also takes a REAL actor to put on a convincing physical performance as well.

I like Javier Bardem to play Bane but primarily for the voice acting while a tall and much larger person does the physical acting. Nathan Jones is the only big man I can see doing the physical acting. I see no problem with two actors playing one character since Bane wears a mask.

an actor, not a big socer player you will grab bats nuts in the middle of the movie, he was decent as juggy though, but i say bardem, and i think thats a muslce suit

anyway, if they were going with someone who from the x-movies , I might go with, Kevin Durand, (though, he is a pretty big guy, even he would probably need prosthetics, or some type of body suit) but, at least he’s got the height

Darth Vader is one of the best villains in history, and he was played by two different people.

I say get a body builder for the body, and reasonable threatening actor for the voice.

HELL no... Get an actor. I want a legit actor who can put on just as good as a performance with his body as the actor can with his voice.
