opponent doesnt mean villain though. after the end of the last movie the whole city probably opposes batman. most certainly the majority of the cops would

Moving on...

If the cast won't even see the script until January, then I'm guessing we won't have news of the villain until that time. I'd hate for that to be the case, for I'm getting just a tad impatient.

We can have the announcement without the actors not knowing the script. I don't think they're mutually exclusive.

That's why I'm guessing Warner Bros. will make it official before the end of the year. That way they avoid any villain leaks once the script is in peoples hands in January.

But if the announcement your looking for has what villains are in the movie I don't think it would be the best thing for tom hardy to find out who he is playing from an article on the net.

I could be wrong but wouldn't Hardy already know who he is playing? He just hasn't seen the script yet.

Having the script and knowing who you're gonna play are 2 different things.

Tom Hardy is one lucky son of a gun. He'll be a household name after this movie.

I'm sure Hardy knows who he's playing, even if he hasn't read the script in-full. When Nolan approached him about being in the film he must have told him, as he would for any other new actors he's bringing in (unless Hardy took the role just on the basis of it being a Nolan project, which I guess is possible).

Tom Hardy: "F*** Michelle Pfeiffer. Wait until they get a load of me!"

Of course the fanboys will complain just like always. "The Joker's skin isn't perma-white, Two-Face doesn't have a two tone suit, Catwoman shouldn't have balls."

Whine, whine, whine.

I kinda want us to have to wait even longer. For argument's sake, let's say Hugo Strange is the villain. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't find out Tom Hardy was playing him until a Hugo Strange website appeared as part of the new viral marketing campaign in the spring of next year? It'd be a much more exciting way to break the news than through a press release.
