Ewwww...somebody's only seen Bane in the movies. Bane orchestrated the release of all the baddies from Arkham so Batman would be too exhausted to put up any kind of fight against him. In the comics, he was extremely smart and worked for no one. Now, I don't know of any acting credits this guy may have, but Markus Ruhl, in my opinion, fits the physical description.

What about Ron Perlman as bane. Ok the age might be dodgy for the part (how old is bane supposed to be) but his acting credits are far better than all the smackdowners in this thread.lol

For me if Bane was ever in another Batman movie (which I hope never happens, there are far greater Bat-villians that deserve to be seen first) I think that the only guy I seeing pulling Bane off would be professional body builder Nasser El Sonbaty

Even Bane, though very big, should be aesthetically pleasing. Nathan Jones and Dalip Singh are big, but not stupidly, hideously overdeveloped. That Sonbaty guy is too developed - not a lot, but a bit.

That Ruhl guy... and I'm praying it's some kind of photoshop job, but if not... he's so far beyond ridiculous I can't find a word for it.

Bane, Croc and Grundy etc should be large guys in the sense that they're normal guys scaled up. In other words, tall, and well developed. NOT normal-height guys developed beyond all aesthetic and practical levels.

You don't want a guy who looks like they'd have difficulty moving. You don't want a guy who is hideous beyond anything imagined by HP Lovecraft.

You want a giant, not a freak. Even for Bane.

WTF!?!?! The Rock as Bane, you people have no idea what you're talking about. If you don't care about Bane's size in the movie then sure, go cast Rock. The Rock is the same height as Ra's Al Ghul(Liam Neeson) and Rock is big yeah, but no where near as big as Bane should be. We need a huge guy who can also act. Thank God none of you are the casting director.

You would talent for looks? The Rock is big enough, plus with movie magic they can make Rock look bigger - they did it with MCD in Daredevil.

If Bane is masked in his venom form, then you don't need someone that can act. Just someone that can do physical things while being agile. The rest can be filled in with a voice-over/normal form by another actor.

While many are decent picks and some I thought of myself it seems to me that with the prosthetic work being done in movies now that it seems to me that there are quite a few that could feel the role. Two cases in point

Or Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut in the current X-3.

By the time Bane roles around in the new series who knows what they'll come up with.

In many ways yes, I agree. Dalip, or "The Giant" Singh definately has the right look as seen here..

At 7'3 and around 400pds he would fit many a villian mold. Although "gasp" he's another wrestler. And his english is heavily accented. No problem except I believe he's Indian and Bane is South American.

It might be noted they had to use subtitles during his scenes in the Longest Yard although he was speaking english. I could understand him but they do that for regional reasons, believe it or not.

But what's the point of doing that when all you end up with is a six-foot muscle man on 2 inch heels? Bane should be bigger than that, if at all possible. Really dwarf Batman, not just out-muscle him.

Well...Pearlman is actually around 6'3 I believe and V. Jones is 6'2. But the point wasn't about height alone.

Well , i don't see why should take on wrestlers or other REALLY buffed up superstars with little or no acting talent whatsoever , just because BANE is big.
Bane needs to be played by an actor who's tall.

I mean , if the movies aren't rushed out and the actors are given time to prepare for their roles ( both mentally AND physically) then they could go on and cast a actor who can act properly.

IMO , the only choice that comes to mind at the moment is Craig Bierko.
ANyone who has seen Cinderella Man knows that he can act. And he's tall.Taller then Bale according to IMDB ( bale = 6' /1.83 m & bierko = 6'4" /1.93 m) .
So yeah , just let him bulk up for the role and if he isn't at the stage , us additional prosthetics.

I think Bane has gotta be humongoid. If they're using an actor under 6'7" they should LOTR it and make him bigger by forced perspective.

That is disgusting. They should not exaggerate him when he injects the Venom. Like someone suggested the Venom should make him slightly bigger...SLIGHTLY...and basically give him a huge adrenline rush.
