Banned members- actual and aspiring - Part 5

There are some names I know will offer nothing of importance or contribute anything positive to the forums. Their sole purpose seems to be posting controversial comments that only further divide, not bring together the membership. I am not refering to only the religious debates or moral debates either. They go on in other forums too over other topics. There are names I wish would go away but they are just smart enough to fly under any infractable or bannable rules.

I think we can make fun of anyone who creates ridiculous threads like women and tattoos causing moral decay. Just because their opinions come from religion doesn't mean they're exempt from ridicule.

And unless it's banned member talk let's move it on out to the lounge before C Lee comes in and murders us all in our sleep/bans us.

'Ignore' is always an option.

What a buzzkill.

Maybe we should have a thread for members we wish would get banned :o

That would be closed within the day due to infighting.

Sounds like horse**** to me. :o

Now, because he's got a new username, we won't even see his brand of ass-backwards nonsense coming. Thanks, mods. :whatever:
You're welcome. :oldrazz:

It's ridiculous to let Percy/SM back. A zebra (especially a religious zealot zebra) can't change its stripes. The mods are asking for more trouble. Sorry, but it's true.
(1) The rule has been in effect for 6 or more years. We have handled the same situation many times. Some of the people reinstated have lasted those 6 or more years....some are gone within hours. It's their call.
(2) When this rule works in favor of someone the board likes...it's the bees knees...when it is applied to someone that people don't like...it's the worstest thing evah!!!!!

I understand perfectly. They annoy the staff as well. One day they will slip up.

Or deletes a bunch of posts....

It seems to be the only option when it's obvious that the rules only apply to some and not all.
:pal::pal::pal:]

Oh...you were serious? Have you not met me...the guy who will infract or ban anyone?

I understand that you guys can't catch everything, but given how many complaints and reported posts some posters have, it's amazing that they're still here. Plus, some seem to be able to post whatever they want (like calling other posters "******ed") and they don't even get an infraction for it. Members have been banned for less.

That's all I'll say about it.

They won't necessarily see something like that unless the post is reported. And they don't always announce when someone gets infracted either.

Don't confuse people with facts.

I've reported posts before about a certain issue and a mod said that no one was going to get infracted unless the issue wasn't dropped. I would think that calling someone ******ed would get an infraction right off the bat.

Depends on the mod, I suppose. They aren't a hive mind. unless they are, and are just toying with us :wow:

I did not see the post you speak of....AND, how do you know it didn't get an infraction?

SM? He was prob banned, then came on under another username...which I always thought got you perma banned (I don't see why it wouldn't), but instead they banned his SM username but he'll be able to return under the second username. I don't understand what the thought process was behind this decision.

It's the rules as stated in FAQs...

If you are on probation, you may not post under any account for the amount of days for which you are on probation. Violation of this probation will result in the permanent banning of your ORIGINAL account (permanent loss of entire post count, avatars, etc.,) and an extension of your probation to your NEW name. Continued violation of this rule may result in IP banning. If you are permanent banned, you may not return to Hype. Note: the Administrators and Moderators can tell if you hold more than one account.
