It's too quick. I most certainly could be wrong.

But it does have something

This should help:

It's between the cockpit and the left arm. If you focus on that part (frame by frame in QT) then you'll see it move. Pretty interesting to say the least.

You don't think they could have fixed that?

There's still plenty of time to fix it(if they can) and if they don't you probably won't notice the bobbing up and down on the big screen

It's just an unavoidable side effect.

The bobbing up and down is kind of annoying, especially with contrast to how the Tumblers move. It's a bit obvious it's on rigging.

Or maybe its because its propulsion/propeller based flying so it can't stay smooth especially in a tight quarters chase.

This was going to be my point. If they didn't want it to bob it wouldn't. The machine is consistent with a helicopter.

The movement from the rig may be the reality but it's perfectly fine in the lore because it moves like a helicopter. So to say its an error of theirs doesn't seem very prudent or necessary.

What do you mean, I won't notice it on the screen? I saw it on the big screen...and noticed it.

The Bat looks so beastly in that shot when it's chasing the tumblers and the EMHT (or whatever it's called) truck.

No.

that the reason for the bobbing can be easily explained when you think of the machine like a helicopter, which would also bob up and down the same way.

If they wanted it to run smooth totally they could have CGIed it that way but they didn't cause this is how they want it to move.

It's too quick of a scene to judge, but if it bobs as frequently as it did in the spy vids, that's definitely an issue. No commercial aerial vehicle flies through the air with complete steadiness, but it's a lot smoother than something attached to a rig. There is a distinct difference that most people could spot.

We'll see. This is one of those cases where filming for real has its disadvantages if post-production isn't meticulous about perfection.

Hi - I actually signed up to this forum to actually agree with Rag - THERE are ROTORS in the bottom, you have to get the 1080 HD version of it, from a link a fellow board member posted - I will try to photoshop the pic as best to my knowledge and post it here.

I actually followed this forum for a long time, but I never really bothered posting or even attempt to be part of this, since its all about mindless rants, and some of the most nonconstructive posts I seen.

Anyhow - I will try to get some pics rollings soon.

Or it could be that the car carrying it in real life stepped on a pothole or something.

But yeah you re right. Nolan wanted it this way, just like i'm sure he wanted Lau and his goons to wait for Batman to punch them, making that fight scene completely amateurish.

Or that's the price to pay for not making it CGI.

No, just no. It flies non smoothly because it has rotors and it is basically a helicopter. Which bob and fly non smoothly.

Oh ok. I just thought that the fact that it was on a car which drove on an actual road might have something to do with it. But oh well, guess i was wrong.

It have invisible rotors. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Here you can see the blades clearly.

It's going to be awesome watching and hearing it! You know the noise an helicopter makes.

It does look like a moving rotor in that pic...but it still doesn't really make any sense in terms of its position and the fact that it's basically completely covered up top with no room for intake. It just doesn't look right....almost more like a set of fast-moving bug wings like on a dragon fly (which would be kinda 'cool, actually), than a rotating propeller. We'll see how it turns out.

:wow: Now i see it. I wonder how the batwing is going to sound :awesome:

It has 4 turbines: 2 front and 2 rear. And 2 blade rotors on the belly. It will sound like 1 million bats screaming in a cave.

Plus when it starts to fire to the tumblers and the explosions and the score! OMG!!!

Ah...I see what looks like the prop shafts now....quite small. They look like ceiling fans. :D (are there rotors on those shafts, or are they to be CG'd in?) I guess is anything they aid a little in stabilization, but most of the thrust comes from the turbines/jets. Pretty interesting.
