Batman: Arkham City - Part 5

Okay, I hope Batman doesn't kill anyone like Keaton did, with a smile on his face.

Eh off screen deaths, you could easily say most of them escaped, they are ninjas after all. As for the other things I think it has always been shown that murder as the Joker said is choosing between one life or the other, and that it may be unavoidable in Batman's younger years or years period. We know that Nolan took from the Golden Age and early Batman stuff as well as the modern age. I love B89 (not to the level of Nolan's) however, the only thing that irked me about that is he deliberately killed and in Batman Returns there was a point where he seemed to enjoy it. That I did not like, I think in reality even in Burton's it is unavoidable to kill, but Batman seems to step out of his way in Burton's films to kill and get pleasure out of it, that is what irked me in those films, not the fact that he killed (he did so in the comics) but more so that he took joy out of it. With Nolan's it was more out of quick circumstance and as the Joker said once more choosing between one life or another.

Agreed 100%!

yeah.....I love the Burton films.....but that's one part I didn't like. Especially in Returns when he straps that bomb on that guy and knocks him down in the sewers.

Well said.

I need to get 89 and Returns on Bluray as well.

I've got the Anthology Batman-Batman & Robin, BB, TDK, Batman 66, Batman Gotham Knights, Under the Red Hood, Return of the Joker, all on Blu-Ray. Than I have B:TAS all 4 volumes.

What can I say I love Bats lol. ;)

Yeah, but Batman started off as a Shadow ripoff before becoming his own character and taking inspiration on the new genre: Superhero comics.

I didn't mind Batman murdering, it showed how damaged this nutcase was, what did trouble me however was how Gotham deemed him as a hero and didn't bother getting the Army to assist them, i mean who honestly wants a rich nutcase over an army, or even beter: Keep them both.

Keaton's size and physical build doesn't work with me either, but did he give a great performance? Absolutely, his voice, his mannerism and the way he showed how totallylost Bruce was, i mean arguebly there was no Bruce Wayne here until Vicky Vale started bringing that human part out, and that i loved.

He started off as a Shadow ripoff and became a Zorro ripoff. Which was a better move.

And besides, Batman used to run around with a gun too. There's stuff that hasn't stayed for a reason. Because the character has been fleshed out. What I find funny about him exploding the factory...and it comes down to something I heard in Clerks about the destruction of the Death Star...what about any non-Joker goons that must have been inside? A janitor or something...?

My biggest complaint about Batman '89, is probably that it could have used more Batman. Though, it'd mean less Joker...and I liked Nicholson's Joker.

pfft, call me when you have Mask of the Phantasm and Subzero too. :o:oldrazz:

I thought it was funny in Batman Begins where Bruce is trying to tell Liam that the murderer deserves a trial (and it is revealed that Bruce is to lead the League of Shadows into Gotham) he just throws a candle onto a pile of explosives leading to the (offscreen) death of potentially dozens of people.

It was pretty funny, yeah.

But, such as Batman move, though.

He's caused the deaths of people before...but never with intent. He's a guy who can't live with murdering someone, but is fine with crippling enemies and confining them to wheelchairs for the rest of they're lives.

He's believe in the justice system...yet takes it upon himself to break the law to dish it out. He has allies, yet distrusts them to the point that he had files on them detailing methods to take them out, with strategies to best do so. Or, you know...having Big Brother Eye spying on everyone.

Batman is a strange guy, to say the least, if you're going to breakdown what he believes in and what he does.

yeah.....I love the Burton films.....but that's one part I didn't like. Especially in Returns when he straps that bomb on that guy and knocks him down in the sewers.

I think Burton approached BR as more of an action film, where in those days...nobody really cared about movie deaths.

It kinda works, though. In Batman '89, Bruce just ****ing snapped when he remembered Napier. Once he remembered that, he snapped and just started killing people...and continued to do so in BR, I guess.

Still, that was a cool scene.

back to the game........do you think they will include the 3d stuff they added in Asylum GOTY?

it would be cool to glide and soar through Gotham in 3d!!

There's a world of difference between what he did and an execution. It was a room filled with able-bodied men that had gone through years of intense physical training. They would have killed him if he didn't create a situation intense enough to cause them to flee.

I'm late on finding out about these skins but they are awesome! Love them all. I'm still holding out hope for a Batman 89 skin (and seeing as they changed the faces for the Dark Knight Returns and Animated series skins; it would be incredible if the 89 skin resembled Keaton) and a 1939 Batman skin with the Wolverine like bat ears and purple gloves. I would seriously die a happy man if both these ideas became a reality. Also would not mind a Batman Begins and the Dark Knight Christian Bale skins.

a batman returns suit or the dark knight suit would be awesome.

i think the returns suit might be my favorite live action suit.

TDK suit is probably my favorite, I think it would look even better if it had a form of "skin" over it.

The Returns suit is a good one, I liked the "armor" look of it.

I remember the Returns suit as being exactly the same as B'89.....What's the difference?

yeah, the armor look is nice, but not over the top. i really liked his cowl in returns, even though i usually prefer shorter ears.

as for the tdk suit, i like it in some cases, but the leg and chest design is simply too busy.

I think the Batman beyond and the earth 1 are my favorite alternates.

I'm hardcore hoping for a 1939 suit

It would be so incredible to play through the game in the original Batsuit. I always wanted a Batman game that actually took place in 1939 but this would be the next best thing.

also would love Adam West Batsuit complete with colorful challenge maps inspired by the tv show with Pow Zaps and Bams on the screen during combat action.

Oh I would be so happy

Ah now I remember and so thank you,The Returns suit would also have to be my favorite live-action suit,I always wanted to see that suit on screen again But with the 70's or Dark Knight Returns colors!!!

I sure hope they go that route for the Bat films after Nolan!

I dont really see any difference there. It looks like the chest is slightly different but i cant see any real differences. Its my fav look for Bats tho, thats fo sho.

It would be funny, yet kind of cheesy if they stuck Bat-Mite in as a random challenge.
