But, what could be really great, is if you needed to unlock all the skins in order to find all of Riddler's challenges. Like you said, the Beyond suit would be able to do things your gadgets couldn't and help reach unattainable locations.
Wait, wait... Are the skins usable during the main game or the challenge maps only? I thought it was the latter, but what you're saying seems to imply it's the former. Has it been confirmed somewhere or was it just speculation on your part?
UK publication Edge have released their September issue and it features the Caped Crusader on the front page! This brilliant article has revealed some great new information on Arkham City as well as providing some awesome new screenshots. Weve given a brief summary on the new details below but make sure to pick up the issue as soon as you can and check out the article and screenshots yourself!
Out now!
-
Bane can now team up with Batman for a series of sub-missions that see the unlikely duo tracking down shipments of chemical contraband.
-
There will be entirely new gadget editions, and the latest to be unveiled is the Remote Electrical Charge (REC). A jury rigged shotgun variant at heart, it grants an instant spark-splattered knock back to foes, or far worse if theyre clad in metal armor and can be used to turn and adversaries breaking weapons of their own into unreliable allies, as they twitch and shudder after being hit.
- The REC will cause machine gun holders to spray their clip uncontrollably and works wonders on multiple enemies, especially coming in handy against Jokers one armed thug and his crowd.
- The new gadget also comes into play during puzzles. A quick blast of the REC will turn some metal objects into magnets as well as acting as a charge to redundant machinery.
- There are 4 hours worth of Catwoman gameplay in the game.
- A screenshot displays Catwoman with her goggles on, this is the first sign of her doing this.
- The main path storyline in Arkham City is bigger than Arkham Asylums. This is without taking the side-quests into account.
- If you fail a side-quest youre able to return to it in a better state after upgrading your gadgets and abilities.
- There are other minor mentions of Arkham City in Arkham Asylum (like Sharp's office) but Sefton Hill didnt mention them as he didnt want to spoil anything.
The Edge September issue is in stores now and will be available in a digital format shortly (link to their site below). We will not be providing scans of the article or the images within it, please do not request this.
While I don't completely dislike the TDK suit it does pale under the Begins costume. IMO
What we got in Begins was a one of a time deal sort of thing. Bale was at his biggest and fittest (in terms of muscles) and the Begins suit fit him nicely at the time.
The stars won't ever align that well for any Batman movie to come. Although I do hope I'm wrong.
Bale's complaints were to no avail because apparently the TDK suit was very tight as well it's only the mobility factor of his head that was the main improvement.
He was still stuck in a molded plastic suit for hours nonetheless sweating his arse off.
the Batman Beyond costume is cool, but, imo, it just doesn't look right on Bruce. Probably because it's Bruce's build in that costume, whereas Terry's BB was a bit smaller and more agile and sleeker with the costume.
also, BB should have an entirely different "style" than Bruce Batman. So, if the BB costume is merely a skin and doesn't really affect gameplay, it loses some of its appeal.
You do know that Bruce used that suit as well, don't you? It's not like he created the suit and then put it into the Batcave, waiting till Terry would steal it.
It's the map/mission DLC I want. It'll eventually be available on the PS store/Live Market soo... no worries.
It's all over the place, so could somebody tell me which DLC/skins are available to purchase when game comes out, and which skins/DLC are exclusive...?
I'd rather they just make a seperate Batman Beyond game.
It was a really cool show and it was interesting seeing an old batman become a "Q" like figure, albeit a grumpy one.
Alternate Costumes 70s
Dark Knight Returns Batman Beyond
There's also said to be a BTAS skin aswell. But i haven't heard anything more on that as of yet. And a Red Robin skin for Tim Drake.
Other Exclusives
An Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and a Joker's Carnival Challenge Map.
DLC Ongoing episodes will be released as DLC. These might be additional side missions or story related missions.
If they release costumes as paid dlc, they won't be that much. So again, it doesn't matter. Everyone will have access to all the dlc regardless of where they preorder
How do you know this wont cost much? People's defintion of much varies anyway and its not only the costumes that are in question, but the challenge maps which presumably would be more. What might be $60 game could very well be $70+ if content is left for as paid DLC. A person may not care for all of that extra content and instead just want one. In that case, they'd preorder at the place that has what they want. If all this content is unlockable in the game, then it wont matter where they preorder from.

They're all exclusive for now. But there maybe a chance that they'll be DLC in the future.
Nah Sefton Hill is a fan of Bane, thats why Bane gets a role. Robin should appear, he's in the comic, and i just see the whole sidekicks thing as ******** since we're having Batman and 2 "villains" help him out already.
Your'e welcome Dude. But there are some things i forgot to mention. There will also be two exclusive challenge maps for Robin. One called "Black Mask Hideout" and another one called "Freight Train Escape".
And that BTAS skin will be available from a spanish retailer.
Looks like Batman could have another optional skin! GAME Espana seem to be offering a Batman: The Animated Series skin as a pre-order exclusive, as well as the already revealed playable Robin + challenge maps.
Wait, wait... Are the skins usable during the main game or the challenge maps only? I thought it was the latter, but what you're saying seems to imply it's the former. Has it been confirmed somewhere or was it just speculation on your part?
Pure speculation with a heavy emphasis on joking. Sorry.
For the people not feeling TDKR suit, why? They did such a good job. It looks exactly like the comic. Hate the comic's look if you will, but Rocksteady delivered on that suit.
Man, I really hope these will all be in the game or at least be DLC, because it seems like it'd be a waste of an opportunity to not have them available in some way.
Anyways, I would love a B:TAS skin! I'd love to see a 30's Batman skin or even a Gotham by Gaslight skin.
I never thought it was Bale's crying that made them change the suit. But, that too many people complained about the neck turning thing. I would have been fine if they had just altered the cowl for that and kept the rest as is.
Which is too bad. Because I really loved the Batman Begins outfit.
It had too much going on, I thought. Too much going on in the legs, and the symbol was too small. I think the cowl is the best thing about it, though.
I'd rather they just make a seperate Batman Beyond game.

Does it count as co-op if it's with an AI character? If there's going to be episodic dlc, as Conroy said there'd be, I wouldn't be surprised if they got us to pay money for a Batman and Robin adventure dlc.
