Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 1

I hope Nightwing returns and that there's a level where Batman teams up with him cooperating and appreciative a bit than in AC

well I 've already stated that it'll be cool to have bat man coordinate other s like Night wing huntress Tim drake robin around the city in area's he can't reach over a radio comm to help people evacuating from other sections out of the city (and you know there have more then one way out of a city they can't all leave from one path) from the Hench men and thugs that may want to block those peoples paths out cause obviously some of those thug's and Hench men will want to have some fun of their own.

But I just thought of this he has them stationed in certain area's ready to meet up with him so he can fight with them star was Galaxys /DCUO style at certain rally points. so he'll meet up with he'll have his corner to take down some npc thug's and Hench men and the the AI versions of a member of the bat family will stay to their own side.

or they can do what ME3 didn't where bat man needs to break through to the final boss and defeat him at his hid out but he just can't get past the hench men and thugs and villain's cause they have him cornered there the person he needs to take down the most for this crisis to end. And Night wing the the others that have worked for batman in the past like the outsiders and the Birds of prey come in Calvary style and give bat man the break through the barrier he needs to take down the main boss once and for all. they stay out side of the building holdin all thoer other characters off while he does his thing inside.

Cat woman is a birds of prey member ( just throw in huntress and black canary who are former Gotham residents ) and people will love it if Kitana shows up since she's a member of the Outsiders that Batman started from the jump from his history of creating that team.

other wise I'm not Expecting too much . The Dev's would have to want to do this and again this is only since / if there no optional and separate but still similar to the story co-op which wouldn't have affected the single player at all. So . that's it would work if they were to show them. other wise I don't think this is likely. it would be cool though .

And if the "dead city" criticism is enough to dock points off AO it should be enough to dock points off AC. Practical story justification or not.

Actually, no. AC feels alive despite the absence of citizens. AO is just dead.
And it was much much less detailed.

To an extent, but to some degree Origins' Gotham is supposed to be empty and desolate due to the snow storm (and to avoid having to populate the area with civilians). The flip side is you've still got tons of enemies about but without any of the flavor, or sense of chaos that City's setting bought with it.

hmm it's cause in AO they ere assassin's and merc's mostly who would have been payed just and only they killed batman while in city it's thugs and henchmen (possibly common crooks) and their boss's running the show fighting for their own territory in a walled off part of the city. that's the difference among other things. the assassin's and merc's weren't doing a free for all on each other. or having semi turf war.

Nope, AO felt every bit alive as AC. It was as populated with gangs and criminals as AC was. The snow storm was also a much better effect, and the Christmas decorations around the city added great atmosphere.

To anyone that complains about the music in Arkham Origins. Would you be so kind to get the hell out? :o

See it didn't feel populated in any remotely natural way. In City you've got the gangs constantly brushing up against each other, rival factions scoping each other out, clear lines of control, an environment bristling with easter eggs and on top of it all the choppers patrolling over head maintaining a watchful eye.

The enemy gangs in Origins felt like they were there because they couldn't have a Gotham without enemies in it and most of the new environments are nondescript. The snow storm is supposed to be so heavy that its depopulated the city streets yet the criminals are more than happy to go wading through it.

As somebody who for most of their life has lived in the city it didn't feel remotely real to me.

In all honesty, what made AC feel alive? I didn't realize much difference between AC and AO. Feels identical, gangs everywhere and no civilians besides random crimes in both?

Agree with Origins feeling dead compared to City. It's the lack of easter eggs and the feeling of wanting to explore every inch of the city. There's not much exploring to do.

The only difference between City and Origins' gangs is they were rivals. That's it. That didn't make City's feel more populated than Origins'. Not even remotely.

Substitute the Tyger choppers for the Cops in AO, and it's the same.

The enemy placement in Origins felt like it was there because they couldn't have a Gotham without enemies in it.

They were there because there was a 50 million dollar bounty on Batman's head, and the criminals were out on the hunt to get him.

Your loss. It felt very real.

It is identical. There's no real basis for these 'dead' complaints.

To me what makes City work is that it goes for an Escape from New York motif and pulls it off.

You've got Joker, Penguin and Two-Face's territory with clear landmarks delineating which is which and the way their gangs shift across the map as each faction fights for control. Poison Ivy's base to the corner, the Wonder Tower and its choppers overlooking the entire district, Bane's little toy factory outpost, Catwoman's apt - the place is full of details like that.

In Origins the gangs roaming about in such large numbers is nonsensical given the snow storm is supposed to be so bad its shut down the entire city. Their placement is there strictly because its a video game and you can't have a traversable Gotham without enemies. And that's a common issue with the design of the Origins Gotham, it very clearly feels like a basic video game environment and a sterile one at that.

I think the issue with city that people are harping on and keep saying it was alive was that cage scene where there showed Bruce trying to escape before you fought as him.

But those were npc thugs are set pieces in a back ground there. like how you see it the old school street fighter games. if that's the issue it's really minor as that'll be hard to do with what AO was doing with bat man being hunted (or supposedly was he turned the table fast on that one there) and he can escape and come back to an area, as opposed to being trapped in a section that's walled off.

the only difference is he had a lot of other places to run and he was doing the hunting.

The difference between City and Origins is that Rocksteady put much more effort to create the world. And that's why it feels alive.

It's not. I think we can stop the debate now :cwink:

No, there is no difference since the AC portions are included in AO as well as a whole new section of the city, too, which is equally populated with both Cops and criminals.

It's not.

It is.

Nobody is forcing you to reply :cwink:

The cops are treated as just another gang. They are just milling about waiting for Batman to beat them up. The first time you're illuminated by a chopper in City and it starts to follow you is a very cool moment, especially if you are fighting and you can hear them reporting it in over the radio.

There's nothing like that in Origins, even remotely.

There's no finding a Scarecrow mask on top of a bridge (close to where his boat is docked) or seeing a building in the corner covered in vines.

The enemy placement and chatter is largely bland and rote. The biggest change I can think of comes when Black Mask's people change their masks. That's probably the closest to "alive" that the world ever feels. You've got wonderful bits in City like when the road is blown and all of a sudden gang members find themselves stranded in enemy territory and they report back into their bosses who both couldn't give a ****. The game is full of moments like that and Origins isn't.

In Origins you've got a horde of criminals just standing around in a blizzard for no good reason.
