Batman: Arkham Knight - Part 4

Oh, he has a pathological need to save people. That's what makes Batman, Batman. Once he decides to stop saving even someone like the Joker, it would probably start to be easier for him, not trying to save other villains. And it would get to the point where he'd probably watch them die.

But the loss of someone like Joker shouldn't affect him like it did in Arkham City. I can buy him feeling like that because he lost Talia, or maybe when he lost Jason Todd. Or the amount of civilians he couldn't save, during one of his villain's killing sprees. But the death of the Joker? Especially when it wasn't his fault? It should leave him unaffected.

Oh yeah... I keep forgetting about Talia.

Was she even mentioned in Harley Quinn's Revenge?

And with his dad being a doctor and his mother a charitable figure, that does make sense. They helped and saved the lives of many people, even men who were probably evil as well.

That's where his conflict could stem from...following on from his parents' example that they set for him, but then struggling with his personal feelings of why he became Batman in the first place...and that was to dish out vengeance on the evil that preys on the innocent. To maintain the lives of innocents. That, while struggling with maintaining justice and order against those evil men...an example he's trying to set for Gotham.

That's why on some occasions some of Batman's behaviour contradicts what he stands for.

Protecting the innocent is his main priority, but he lets this evil in Gotham to continue...They go on and on and on...and he lets them.

That's what he brought up in AC...that he was to blame for every life that the Joker has taken. That was mentioned in TDKReturns...He's to blame...and he STILL can't kill Joker...He won't bring an end to this madness and death. He just doesn't have it in him, he can't bring himself to kill anyone...not even Joker.
He holds their lives in his hands and he lets them live to kill another day.

So he can hate the Joker all he likes, and be angry...but he only has himself to blame for what Joker does. He could put an end to it, but he won't.

And so for him to carry the Joker's body out at the end in AC, I'd say he finally realizes and feels the depth of everything he has caused over the years. Batman takes full responsibility of Joker's actions...He takes full responsibility of all the lives that Joker has taken...

So what does he feel? Maybe his hatred has washed away and he's finally left with the burden for his creation's actions? And Batman knows he's responsible for Joker's creation and descent into madness.
And if Batman feels that way, it's understandable from his POV.

I thought there was more layer's to that then his parents. (that is an interesting point) like the fact that he was showing the law like Gordan he was on the same side as them. other wise they'd be all over him again like when he first appeared. with the exception of self defense cause he 's force or there's other way to save that life at that moment (still forced) and all other wise he's trying to show he's a help to the city and actually will a help so he will avoid the death of others happening around him or killing .

So he's only pretending to be law abiding to be on Gordon's good side? :wow:

Not at all. I said other wise as I said he actually will help the city. There's more to it. which why I said layers.

And that is where the theory that he's just as crazy as the people he fights comes into play.

And Joker, was it you that said the AK might be Damian?
That army and their weaponry just rings League of Assassins.
Ra's is dead and so is Talia and it was hinted in AC that they slept together...

Would be neat to see Batman have the horror revealed to him that his son, who he never knew he had is his enemy!

Yep that was me. As evidenced in that footage the mystery voice talking to AK said he can have his vengeance soon. So he's obviously pissed off at Batman for something (it has to be something that happened in the Arkham game universe story to connect it all together). I'm betting it's the death of his mother Talia.

And is it me or did that mystery voice sound a lot like Bane?

Exactly. The vengeance part has just clinched it. This isn't someone just wanting to surpass Batman, he wants revenge too.
It has to be Damian. Naturally with both his grandfather and mother dead, he's the next in line to take over TLOA...but why has he modeled himself after the Arkham brand? Is just a part of his identity, pr is it done to invoke something within Batman? It has to go back where it started in terms of story.
Arkham is where all of Batman's villians are contained, he lets them live and they are placed in there. But the Arkham Knight is working alongside these villians, so it's not about him wanting to erase them and surpass Batman by doing what he couldn't, at least not at the beginning.

It's all very puzzling.

But I do definitely think that is Damian and he has brought the TLOA into a new generation.

And it did sound like Bane, not Scarecrow.

And where does Azrael come into play?

I love it when he just calls it "the car".

Really wondering what he saw at the end of the video that had him on edge. Have to wait a week, which is almost like being taunted. Then, you realize June is still 6+ months off. Eh.
