We agree that we most likely won’t see a new Batman movie until... 2021, at the earliest, right?

I'm still sticking with 2020 for now.

stevens would make a great joker, he's got the facial structure for it.

Not a big fan of Stevens but I can see him as Bruce.

Late 2020 is possible.

Bets on Reeves dropping out?

Dan Stevens would be a great option. As for when The Batman comes out, I think 2020 at the absolute earliest. Might be 2021, depending on how long Warner Bros take to decide on what to do with casting.

Reeves probably stays. Apparently Affleck rumour is true. I hate life.

I dunno, I haven't heard anything definitive on the Affleck rumor at this point. So far I still think it go could either way.

Lol fan conversation in the year 2020:

"I think Affleck is staying as Batman"

Btw I think 202 the earliest, most likely 2021, but what do I know

Hot take... Batman stays in limbo until 2025.

No point in worrying until Reeves has actually finished a draft. If he turns one in and WB isn't on board then yeah, we'll have problems. Reeves worked on Apes until July of last year, so he hasn't even been on Batman for a year yet. Plenty of work to be done.

As for Affleck, I'm not going to stress about it anymore. If he stays, he stays. If not, I'm sure they'll find a suitable replacement.

Additional person saying Ben is staying as Batman, has been reliable in the past... take it for what it's worth.

That guy is hardly reliable. He has far more strikeouts than hits.

I won't believe that Affleck is either staying or leaving until I hear it from a reputable source, like one of the major trades. All these tin pot little online journalists are all about the clickbait, and are safely ignored.

I have to agree with the emerging consensus that this movie isn't happening for a looooooong time. WB/DC is a total mess right now, and things need to settle down before this film can proceed. I just hope Reeves does stick around while WB sort themselves out. I'm sure the guy has other potential projects he could be working on, so I hope his head doesn't get turned by something a little less fraught with pressure and difficulty.

I just don’t see the rationale for keep Ben as Batman. BvS was a critical bomb and it underperformed, and JL was a critical AND a financial bomb. And while there were plenty of critics who said he was the one good thing about BvS, to say that his Batman has been met with a warm reception is really pushing it.

Moreover, his performance in JL and his attitude in press events indicates that he doesn’t even want the role anymore. I could be wrong about that but he really seems like he’s ready to move on. Why not just let it go?

Fair point. I just think it’s interesting that since the general consensus for almost a year now is that Ben is out and now all of a sudden we’re starting to hear that may not be the case anymore. It’d be the safer bet if you were trying to seem like a legit scooper to say he’s gone.

Any who, finished this gem recently.

Now that Gyllenhaal is officially lost to the DCEU since he joined the MCU to play Mysterio in the Spider Man Homecoming sequel it begs the question of who DC go after now to play Bruce Wayne/Batman especially since Affleck won't be sticking around much longer anyway

Buscemi as Two-Face?

I’d love Palin as Alfred, though.
