Shame. He would've been a fan favorite like Bale.

So Batman is apparently gonna shoot on December... I guess this leaves every single actor on Earth with a free schedule.
But dammit, I really don't want to wait another 5 months for casting news

For reference:

Christian Bale was announced in September 2003
Filming on Batman Begins began in March 2004

Brandon Routh was announced in October 2004
Filming on Superman Returns began in March 2005

Henry Cavill was announced in January 2011
Filming on Man of Steel began in August 2011

Ben Affleck was announced in August 2013
Filming on Batman v Superman began in May 2014

Zachary Levi was announced in February 2017
Filming on Shazam! began in January 2018

They are dumb if Pattison's casting was true (as Batman, or villain or wherever) and they didn't choose/let him go. But since I don't think they're dumb, that means it was FAKE news. But good for him, there are few better moves for your career than starring in a Nolan movie.

And people need to stop taking the young thing too literal lol.

So most likely April or May.
Worst case scenario June.

I'm guessing second week of April to ride off of the (assumed) success of Shazam.

Matt Reeves himself said casting would begin shortly like a month ago, so I would guess there definitely has been movement going behind the scenes that we're just not privy to. Also this dude has had like 2+ years to think about who he would like as Batman, I would think he probably has a short list in mind and isn't doing an "open casting call" type of thing.

Wouldn't be surprised if Principal Photography doesn't actually start until January. Starting in the second week of December seems weird since Hollywood will basically shut down for the Holidays anyway in 2 weeks from that date until after New Years.

I'm sticking by the March 30th thing.
Announcing it second week of Shazam is too risky in case Shazam undeperforms (which I doubt it will but it might)
March 30th is a pretty perfect date. It'll give the impression that DC is headed to a bright future in that week.

I'm skeptical of an exact production start date eight months out. Also, "potentially eyeing." LOL. Basically pick any random date in Q4 of this year and you've got yourself a scoop.

For your consideration as Batman / Bruce Wayne: SNL's Pete Davidson (25).

Pros -
- Tall
- Women love him
- Has a dark side

Cons -
- Looks a bit too much like Jared Leto as The Joker

Shame about Pattinson... but then I’m also very much looking forward to seeing him in a Nolan movie.

Being in a Nolan flick this summer doesnt rule him out as Batman that's shooting early 2020

Miles Tellaar will be available by that time after Top Gun 2 which is a massive project that he has an extremely critical role in.

Tall, handsome and brilliant acting talent and a great dancer. See how slick and mean he is but gentle in the dancing clip as well. These are all traits of Bruce Wayne whch he perfectly shows off in spades in the clip. Wayne is a complicated character who needs this type of actor who can naturally embody him on screen.

This is some kind of reverse psychology to make Armie Hammer look like a better option? If so...well-played.

I’m not great at math, but my calculations tell me that there’s a zero percent chance Miles Teller will ever play Batman at any point in his life.

You say that, but Pattinson doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy to go straight from one gigantic blockbuster to another. Also, there’s always a chance reshoots could overrun into The Batman, which May give WB/Pattinson pause. And pre production for The Batman will overlap Nolan’s post production.

You’re absolutely right to say it doesn’t rule him out completely, but does it make it less likely? Yes it does.

Pattinson isn't the lead role, and conveniently both films are under the same studio.

Hypothetically if Robert was the go-to guy, arrangements are easily made to accommodate both schedules. When mommy and daddy are in bed together, it's easier to negotiate.

If I may suggest a young up-and-comer...

Colin Woodell (The Purge tv show and the upcoming Call of the Wild). He'll be 28 by the time this gets rolling.
