Epilogue was sublime. A perfect end to Batman Beyond and Batman's story in the DCAU. Terry is Batman's son. Deal with it :p

Good fudgin darn it, Bobby, can people stop with this argument? Bruce was adopted, Martha Wayne was Asian, the Waynes moved to Gotham from Korea. Fixed. Done. Easy.
I think some people just inhaled too much Gotham lately...

Whether you like it or not, racebending Bruce especially in this really divided political time would bring up a lot of controversy that I think WB and Matt Reeves would rather not have. There's zero chance they're gonna do that right now, it does add a very obvious subtext in a lot of people eyes, both from people that like the idea and those that dislike it. I imagine that if a filmmaker wants to make a noir driven detective Batman film, he'd probably want people to talk about well, Batman. Not talk about asian representation or whatever, not that there's nothing wrong with bringing those subjects on a film but Batman is really the wrong character.

And Matt Reeves also doesn't seem to like to make his films political even in sutext. He really had a chance to go political with the Planet of The Apes films and he intentionally avoided it.

lol at Planet of the Apes avoiding politics
I mean, he really did, he even mentioned so in one of his interviews. He said he was trying to just generally explore human behavior without directly relating it to one specific issue or set of issues related to today's climate

I mean there were some pretty obvious parallels to Nazis with the group Woody Harrelson was heading In War

Using a villain army and making parallels to the nazis with it isn't exactly mind blowing, in your face controversial political commentary.

I'm not saying there aren't political undertones in his Planet of the Apes films, OF COURSE there are, it's a trilogy of films based on hierarchies and power structures, but he really didn't make them as obvious or as controversial as other filmmakers would've made them to be. It really shows he was just trying to explore how societies interact in general. And the fact he made Woody Harrelson's character to have a pretty good motive to do everything he does kinda makes it more obvious he wasn't just trying to say "Oh this group is wrong and this group is right", he was just trying to explore humanity in general.

And if he didn't get overboard with having some sort of controversial in your face statement in Planet of the Apes, I don't think there's much chance he even has the tiniest intention of making a political statement with Batman, everything so far it just sounds like he wants to explore Bruce Wayne and the complexities of n obsessive person trying to do good. I doubt he'd want to add a political subtext by racebending the character.

I wonder what kind of political message Batman could have.

And regarding race swaps, I don't mind some of the supporting cast and villains getting swapped to have a more diverse Gotham City.

You'll probably find out in the Joaquin Phoenix joker film.

The sky is the limit really; it mostly depends on the type of story Reeves is looking to tell. That said, he could very well be more interested in exploring social or existential themes, as opposed to political ones.

The lower part of Hoult's face is too distinguishable, meaning that you can easily identify him under the cowl.

You don't need a chameleon to play Bruce Wayne. You need someone who can immerse themselves into something that can come across as really silly if the right balance isn't struck, but the actual complexity of that...isn't.

There are plenty of actors whose appearance does much of the heavy lifting. Simply having certain bone structure makes some actors appear more expressive even when they're not doing anything. It's not necessarily a bad thing.

I couldn't get behind Steven Yeun like I couldn't for O'Brien, Kaluuya, O'Connell or someone similar.
Just prefer physically more imposing Batman.

Sure, Keaton is 5'9, but his movies were solo. Now we have other JL members with Manganiello's Deathstroke.
