Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 6

I confess, that’s one of his I haven’t seen (because, as you say, it appears to be terrible) but I’ll give it a skim at some point if the casting pans out.

...though I would say that if ATJ gets the role, I can’t see that he’d have been the first choice, if I’m honest.

It's worth seeing if only for Shannon's fantastic performance and lovely score. The script and execution are juvenile piece of trash, tho

Really hoping this is true, personally. ATJ has been one of my favorites for the role for awhile now, especially after Jack O'Connell stopped being an option a few weeks back. He looks the part and has the acting chops.

My only hesitation has been the voice and if he has landed the role, that almost certainly means he was able to bring the goods in his screentest.

agreed. I'm not even concerned with the voice honestly. i have the utmost confidence he can pull it off

Still hoping Hammer was cast but I can kind of see ATJ pulling it off. He was good in Nocturnal Animals but that role is almost so crazy/out there that I can't even say that that role proves he would be a good Bruce...

I trust Matt Reeves though.

Possibly. I just am partial towards him because it would be a nice 1:1 exchange of the Ben Affleck Batman from a visual perspective, and I can see him standing next to Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, etc without looking weird. I can't quite picture ATJ doing that, but who knows if that will ever even come up again.

True. I think with the outrageous success of Endgame WB will want to try to work on a team up again. Maybe they'll take the right lesson that "slow and steady" wins the race with this kind of stuff.

I don't expect smart decisions from people who gave the keys to the kingdom to Zack Snyder. I am more in 'one good movie at the time' place now and I don't expect any team ups anymore

I mean the fact that Kevin Tsujihara is on his way out/already is and the other leadership/producer changes hopefully mean more centralized decision making going forward. We'll see how it pans out.

A lot of superhero actors tend to be drama queens. Don't think they'll care.

Thats something that is important to me too.
How he looks or carries himself.
To me a good Bruce wayne actor needs to be able to play essential 3 characters and give off the vibe.
He needs to look charismatic as hell...something imo no batman actor so far could pull off, clooney was close to it but not there.
Because you need the public figure bruce wayne who has charisma for days...well if reeves even uses much of the public persona bruce wayne.
He needs to look and be a strong and fearsome Batman.
And he needs to be Bruce wayne, the young man who is so human in his pain and wish to protect others from it.

Thats why i think casting Bruce Wayne is one of the hardest thing to do in any superhero movie.

Oh yeah, considering that im not 100% happy with any of the batman movies so far...its like i wait for something we never had.

Well the reason may be not what we hoped for, but the result is the one many wanted.

WB chose James Gunn as the new Suicide Squad director even when they already had a script and a director attached... I don't think there's a bigger statement of "We absolutely don't care about Twitter drama" than that. And while they alienated some female fans, I don't think it was enough towards it being a problem, other things were. I look on Instagram and most of Henry's and Leto's fans are still female.
