After the collective pants-****ting by Twitter scoopers last week, I'm sticking with Justin Kroll and Jeff Sneider on this. If they say Reeves hasn't started meeting with actors yet, I believe them.

Matt Reeves is who I wanted to take over Batman after Christopher Nolan, so I'm admittedly biased in his favor. Him dropping out would gut my enthusiasm down to the bone.

Having said that, if Reeves were to ultimately drop out, I'd be open to the Russo Bros. They've got the clout, and for my money The Winter Soldier is one of the best films in the MCU (hot take: it's better than Infinity War and Endgame). I could see them creating something similar to BTAS both in tone and aesthetic.

I feel like Batman is the one DC character that could draw the Russos (or a Russo) away from Marvel. He's high-profile enough and different from most Marvel superheroes that it would probably be enticing for them.

Zac Efron is an intriguing choice. May be one of those wildcards that actually ends up paying off. He’s still my pick for Nightwing era Dick Grayson.
