Well more than I am about Hoult, but it's WB so it's hard to apply logic here

Nicholas Hoult and ATJ are only ever good in off-kilter roles like Mad Max, Nocturnal Animals or The Favourite. They're terrible straight men, and have been incredibly boring in superhero ensembles already, can't imagine them being great when they're holding the whole film on their shoulders. Also, wasn't there a rumour that Hoult hated working on X-Men? Who's to say he won't hate this too?
Sing Street's one of my favourite films of the decade, but Jack Reynor - as good as he was there - would be an awful Batman. Jack O'Connell could have been good, he's certainly a great actor. Probably the best from that short-list.

I like all that except o’connell. All terrible choices.

Nicholas Hoult lost out on Top Gun 2 to Teller and Glen Powell (whose audition was so good they gave him another role in the film); he's probably losing this too all things considered.

O'Connell might be short, but he's a hell of an actor. Pattinson is still the best choice suggested, by far, but of the short-list O'Connell's the only one I could stomach.
That said, it's probably Aaron Taylor Johnzzzzzzon

I don’t quite follow. He is a major contender for the role. This is just and well-documented. If he loses the role to someone else then so be it but He really is the only one who fits Reeves’ inception of an unconventional Batman easily. He has the body, the muscle, less abdominal gas than ATJ, clearly far more acting skill than pretty much anyone mentioned and is oscarrrr nominated because he Stellaarrr.. because he Telllaarrr

Robert Pattinson and Jack O'Connell are my top choices. Jack O'Connell will be busy with " The North Water", 3-4 60 minutes episodes and the filming starts this autumn. Still, it's possible he will make it in time before the production begins for Reeves' Batman film. No idea about Pattinson, but Nolan's film will wrap in September. I can totally see ATJ as Bruce Wayne/Batman, and with strong director like Matt Reeves, I'm sure ATJ will deliver a great performance.

I just googled him and he looks of the age range that Reeves is looking for (although he's 31 years old, he could pass for late 20s) and he could wind up being the most comic-accurate looking Bruce Wayne ever (also has a good chin for the cowl). Don't know about his acting chops though since I haven't seen him on anything...

How come we are super skeptical of Twitter scoopers but trust random users on forums?

That guy before any other outlet or blogger said MEW was Huntress and Smollet was Blackcanary, he then later deleted his posts once some folks started posting his stuff on reddit. He also confirmed ATJ tested for the role before any other ''scooper'' jumped on the ATJ train.

I mentioned him a while back, and it wasn't well received. I think there's baggage associated with CW actors, whether its warranted or not. With that said, I think I've seen him in only one other thing outside of that CW Universe. And he was fine in that.

He's definitely got a good look, not sure about acting ability as I've only seen him in one film (time travel flick ARQ) and tbh it didn't showcase any great range. But would definitely be open to the casting.
