Hugh Jackman is tall and so what he played many times Wolverine and Wolverine is very short. When Hugh Jackman been cast some say Hugh Jackman is too tall bla bla bla...

Agreed Green Day... i think these are going to be the finalists...

There are three talented actors there. And a big gym-guy with a deep voice.

Joe Manganiello is the guy for the sequel not too old not too young he look like Batman in Arkham Asylum. Rumor say that Snyder want someone with a similar notoriety then Henry Cavill. Jake Gyllenhaal don't fit, Ryan Gosling don't fit, the guy that fit the most with the description is Joe M.
1) Nobody here seems to know what "notoriety" means. What is he notorious for? Being a poor actor?

2) Their resemblance to art used in a videogame is not a great reason to cast someone in a leading role that will probably span many multi-million dollar movies.

Lets not forget the man who has been at the center of this from the start

Luke Evans & Henry Cavill again
God that so looks like Batman and Superman chatting. I love the visual and chemistry but everyone says Evans American accent sucks. :(

Henry Cavill beat Zod in Man of Steel and Michael Shannon is taller than Superman.

Just move Gotham to wherever Evans native land is.. no biggie.

Most British people outside Wales would struggle to pronounce "Aberbargoed". I would love to see the world media try!

I would love to see Gosling as either Batman or The Flash. I think people are put off by him for his movie star good looks, and typically think Batman needs a harder face to him.

Most of the choices mentioned here are fairly good looking movie stars, so I don't think that has anything to do with not wanting him for the role.

It's a silly reason...With speech training it can be taken care of...Henry Cavill's got a heavy accent too

Bale Dammit! :cmad:

Bale was the overwhelming fan fave - the only other strong fanbase I can remember was for David Boreanez (ugh!) the reaction was one of amazement because it was such wishful thinking and never really thought it would happen, quite a euphoric experience. I remember so many pics from Equilibrium and American Psycho. Fun times.

I don't know where you were around then but there was a smaaaaalll minority supporting David Boreanez back then. I did once as an off the cuff suggestion and I was roasted. And this was before the Invasion of the Batnoobs '08 era. Biggest faves back then were Bale, Guy Peirce and Jim Caviezel.

Actually, having Gotham City being a 'London' instead of a 'New York City' with a Royal Bruce Wayne who has a Ex-German (left before Hitler took over) Butler, Alfred would be a pretty sweet one-off graphic novel...

What do you mean by a "heavy accent"?

Cavill has an ordinary English accent, which he substitutes for an ordinary American accent when playing Superman.

If they go for an older Batman...then I'll fight tooth and nail for Jim Cavizel.

For the record, I'd bet my life that they won't cast anyone over 40. Pretty confident they won't even cast someone over 35. Just seems like they'll shoot for a Marvel films type deal. And while casting RDJ throws a wrench in the theory...I think they'll be looking for a younger actor. But, if I had choose someone older, and other than Christian Bale...

Hear, hear.

lol I'm a stupid American so bare with me, how would one describe Cavill's accent exactly?

So anyway Evans can work on his accent if he sucks at it. I like him for the role so he is on my fancast list. That's just me though.

Josh D is handsome and a decent enough actor but he is too vanilla to play Bruce Wayne.

Technically, its RP, "received pronounciation". In layman's terms, "posh". RP is the regionless, standardized accent used by BBC presenters, the Queen etc.

It's funny to hear it spoken of as a "heavy" accent- RP is intended to be regionally neutral, and therefore the opposite of that.

Joe M is playing a werewolf in True Blood a werewolf have 2 skins the human and the dark skin. A werewolf only manifest in the knight. An Bat manifest in the night too, the werewolf and the bat are predators.

Some little twitter rumor blurb I saw yesterday suggested that Joshua Jackson met with Snyder, and they automatically assumed it was for Batman. I like him alright and I always thought Gosling would be an interesting choice. Wes reminds me too much of the guy from Lois and Clark (Michael Landes) that played Jimmy Olsen.

That was a very concise explanation, thankyou! Obviously I know there isn't some uniform accent over there anymore than there is one here in the states.

Ha- might as well throw Michael Landes in the mix for the heck of it. :p
