I would love Bomer, but I think that what truly is holding him back from being a fan choice is that he hasn't done a 'dark' role. So many aren't sure if he can pull off Batman, but Bruce that role he has in the bag.

I'm going to mention him because I know we will reach this point eventually. Andrew Lincoln. There my work here is done. :o

Looking at the list of dudes connected for the Superman role in MOS... how about Matthew Goode?

I had mentioned Goode since he worked with Snyder before and was supposedly in the running for Superman. Not advocating him but I could see him on the list.

I think all the dudes looked at for MOS will at least be thought about for Batman. I just threw in Goode since he doesn't get mentioned as much as the other guys.

Timothy Olyphant could be nice. I dont think he's a good actor or anything , but is craziness under the suit could work really well.

Another guy i always thought might be a good candidate for Bruce is Eric Bana.

Luke Evans and Matt Bomer are my current favorites.
I considered them at first. But now I see Luke Evans and I say no because his American accent is crap. He may be a part of too many franchises like Fassbender (who will always be my dream choice before anyone else).

Matt Bomer doesn't have what it takes to be Batman IMO. Brilliant playboy Bruce, but not the genuine Bruce or Batman. I agree that he looks like Cavill, but not as much as Richard Madden who could be Cavill's twin. He's another suggested actor around here.

It's all about Fassbender and Gosling for me but since they probably can't sign them to a deal, im going with Wes Bentley.

Im officially OUT of the Manganiello camp. Ive seen enough of him to know he's one dimensional and would be a lazy choice coming after Bale. It would feel like a HUGE gap. He's also busy filming True Blood.

I honestly think it would feel like a slap in the face if Gyllenhaal got the job. Because he lost to Bale. He was in the running in 2003 but he just wasn't good enough to play the role because Bale stepped in. So if he's cast it's going to feel like "Oh they couldn't sign Bale so they just grabbed the guy who was the second best. The guy who was the backup cuz he wasn't quite good enough".

Snyder really liked Goode in his testing for Superman...Would not surprise me if he works with him again on a role

Like how Cavill and Adams were slaps in the faces because they lost out on Superman Returns (and other Superman projects)?

Good point. But I believe Bale is a top notch actor and people tend to not think of Jake in the same league, even if he's good. If he comes in and it's all over that "he was the runner up" it just feels like they took the backup choice from the previous franchise because A) they couldn't get Bale and B) they were too lazy to actually look for new people.

Damn, Fassbender can work that cowl. :atp:

Definitely agree with James Badge Dale I think he'd be great.

Matt Bomer I think would be interesting, he'd definitely be a fantastic Bruce Wayne and I think he could pull off Batman.
James Badge Dale was actually one of my picks for Superman years ago. I now think he is much more suited for Batman. He was one of my favorite things about Iron Man 3 to be honest.

Interesting. If Jake had been in Batman Begins, he wouldn't have acted in Brokeback Mountain, consequently wouldn't have received his first Oscar nomination for best supporting actor.

It wasn't so bad for him.

How about Thor's little brother, Liam Hemsworth. Have to admit I am not fa,iliar with his work, but physically, he fits the mold if they are going with a younger Bruce/Bats

Good man. Stay clean.

I disagree. He has the same problem as a lot of actors suggested here: he looks like a moron.

Ugh im tuning out if that happens (Liam Hemsworth). He sucks. He doesn't come off as Bruce in any way. No intensity. Pretty boy. NO!

:funny:

I can't believe that two people have suggested Liam Hemsworth for Batman. On what planet is he right for Batman? I have nothing against the kid but Hell no with cherries on top.

Even though Cavill got passed up for Superman several times, I still totally agree with this.

The difference in Jake Gyllenhaal's case is that his career has thrived without Batman anyway. And despite him being more the right age for it now, I think he's too high profile now at this point. And he's still not as good a choice as Bale now, even with some added years and maturity. It'd be a clear downgrade IMO.

Plus, it'd be kind of odd to have the next Batman oddly resemble Rachel. :oldrazz:
