As for the question of a 40 yr old carrying a franchise for 2 or 3 films, I think John Campea from AMC theatres explains it best.

You do know that people age, right? Let's say they do hire Keaton as Batman, and he is instructed to run 15 yards. He starts running and 10 yards into it, and he's bent over because he's out of breath saying "Wait....a minute......let me catch.......WHEW......my breath....". Then he's directed to jump off of something the height of let's say a kitchen table. The director yells "ACTION!" He jumps and falls down to the ground and exclaims " Damnit! There goes my hip again!" Finally, instead of water or Gatorade in between takes, he asks for his Metamucil.

still a cop out people act like a 40 year old actor is some senior citizen look at jackman the man was whooping butt in the wolverine jumping around fighting like 10 guys at the same time and having a brutal battle with shingen and the man turns 45 in octoberDude is forgetting one MAJOR aspect. Everybody he named is more or less a professional athlete. Not the same as a actor. Ill give him credit on the Rocky part, but even then, boxing in a ring is night and day compared to running around and jumping off buildings. Just because we have a Batman around the same age as Supes in the universe doesnt mean he has to be a rookie. Lets say Bats started at 28 and is now 32 through 34. Bingo you have your experienced Batman.
I already suggested they do that a few months ago. Cast the older actor for the crossover films. Which would be like 2 or 3 movies. Then do a prequel trilogy with a younger actor, that way these "solo films" don't have to reference a shared universe since it's before Superman enters the picture. The director will have the freedom to do what he wants as long as he doesn't end the story completely. Which wont happen anyway because Nolan just did that.
Then they jump forward and do a Batman Beyond film. By the time this movie happens the "mid 40s" actor from BvS/JLA will be well into his 50s, maybe even close to 60. So you use him as the old man Bruce.
It's a win for everyone.
You do realize that most of the fight scenes and many of the walking scenes in the '89 Batman were not Keaton at all, but stunt doubles and a belly dancer, yes? And his was the best live action looking Batman to date.

....Everyone keeps talking about the casting, but is there even a SCRIPT for this thing yet? From the sounds of it it hasn't even been written.
It seems a lot like to me they just literally decided to do this project not long before the announcement was made.

but amc guys main flaw in his argument is he thinks you need to be 40 to be seasoned you can get a 36 year old like a fassbender and be seasoned aswell
look at butler in 300 he looked like a tough seasoned warrior and was mid 30's
Call me crazy but I was watching Frankin and Bash the other day and noticed how Many "Bruce Wayne like" qualities that Mark-Paul Gosslear has. He's tall and has a good frame, he's genuinely handsome, he definitely has that playboy look but I think he could pull off the deep brooding and contemplating look.

He's not my official pick but he's definitely got my interest.

Jeez. I gotta admit. That profile just looks so much better than every shot we got in Nolan's trilogy. It's just Batman straight from the page. Nolan never got the cowl right. I really think Snyder does have the potential, and will bring us the best Batman visually. I just know he can do that.
You remember the moment when he fights all those goons and that ninja guy dies all that Ninja stuff well in that part you can clearly see its not Keaton at all lol there were son had edits in that film no matter how much I love it. Still nothing will ever be as bad as the obvious changes in dancers during the famous scene in Flashdance
Seems that way to me too KS![]()
