dc heroes will have killer sideburns if armitage is cast. he's got the look, and he's a good actor. he's too old. older than bale. is batman only going to be in batman vs superman and justice league?
Armitage is only 41 that is hardly too old ,hugh jackman is older than him and did 3 x men films from 41 - 44 and still going strong

I keep seeing these Richard Armitage as Bruce posts on tumblr and I'm starting to get behind this.

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent
Richard Armitage as Bruce Wayne

:hrt: Could not agree more that first image just screams Bruce to me.

Armitage looks like the Joker is nose is maybe too long just too long.

Yes, it could happen that way. And Justice League could end up just being a Trinity film in disguise, which I would have no problem with. Keep Flash on tv if he's another CW actor.

Casting a 40s actor for 2 films is a damn good idea. 3 at the most (either a Justice League sequel or 1 solo film). But 2 sounds about right. That's why Josh Brolin is a good choice. He'll be like 47, 48 for Justice League then go the Beyond or prequel route where he doesn't have to be Batman.

What Jett said on BOF was very accurate to my mindset too. The fact that theyre casting an older actor means theyre focused on the story and what is needed for THAT and not focused on some extended shared universe. Otherwise theyd be casting a younger actor who can stay on board for a bunch of solo films + crossovers. Putting Flash on tv is a test sure, but it could be indication of no "traditional Justice League of several DC characters".

Yeah, honestly can we stop acting like being over 40 puts the actor out of the running? It's ridiculous. "Oh, but, if the franchise goes on another 10 years..." Well, then they'll be doing it into their 50s, won't they? Big deal. :o

These guys take good care of themselves, and 50 might as well be 38.

Armitage would make a better Joker I think.

Looks wise I think his face is very pointy like the Joker's but I think he's too broad and bulky for the Clown Prince of Crime, plus not typecasting him but I think he always tends to go to more brooding roles and it would be hard for him to pull off a maniacal man, but hey some people had no faith in Ledger due to his previous stuff and look how he turned out!

I REALLY like the idea of a older wiser Jon Hamm batman! But then again I don't want it to be Bruce Wayne in Batman Beyond. So maybe a little younger than Jon Hamm. Ryan Gosling maybe? I'm really torn! I hope they don't just copy The Dark Knight Returns comic, I really want to see a little piece taken out of lots of comics! BUT The Joker CAN'T be in it. I think he should be the main villain in the Justice League film. To give the people who cast the roles time to really research and find another gem like Heath Ledger! I hope Lex Luthor is in this one!

Im pretty sure theyre only taking influence from the Returns graphic novel when it comes to the "Batman" characterization and possibly a few pointers for the Superman fight. No this doesn't mean it's going to end the same way. Ill bet anything it wont have any influence on the story or Superman's characterization.

I seriously doubt any Bat villains will be in this as it's mainly a Superman movie. It's in Metropolis and has Superman's supporting characters. We may only get Alfred, briefly.

Joker wont be the villain of Justice League.

the big thing about the dc universe is that they try to explain everything. the dark knight trilogy did something interesting. he was only batman for 2 yrs, then 8 years later his body was destroyed. he might fight like a young man but he's still old(even though 38ish isn't that old). the argument is probably that batman and superman are closer in age than 10yrs or so. currently, in the comics, superman is 27 and batman is probably in his early to mid 30s, and he has a grown up batfamily.

The Joker? interesting, but I see him more like Bruce

I think his presence and good looks would contrast Henry's.

I think it's neat that they don't care if the actor is 40ish. I'm tired of the obsession with youth. As I keep saying I don't give a **** about wrinkles, humans age so what?

to me armitage is the male version of arterton as wondy. you calculate everything they've got going, and they're as ideal as it can get.

I think Bomer would be great. Watch an episode of White Collar and he's got Bruce Wayne down. Watch his scene from In Time and I think he could take that, go further with it, and turn it into a GREAT Batman. Just my 2 cents.

this batman should be about 34-35 with some weathering in his face, so armitage is right in the goldilocks zone.

And for some reason he looks like he'd have chemistry with Henry :D

i'm guessing this role is going to be cast before november. they need to be in preproduction by the end of this year so they can film in 2014 for a 2015 release. they spent so long on man of steel. they don't have that time for this movie.

of the actors mentioned they are either great bruce wayne types or great batman types. only 2 or 3 are both.

He's good looking in a more rugged way than Henry is which I think would work for this older Batman, I could see a scene where he shows flirts with Lois in front of Clark and it kind of shows that you don't need boyish looks to be a charmer. (No homo)

Gemma Arterton could be a good Diana but I don't find her acting to be that good from what ive seen. Havent seen her most recent stuff.

Im hoping that if they go with this 40-somethin' Bats and a 34 year old Superman, maybe Emily Blunt could really have a chance for Wonder Woman. She's 30 I believe but could pass off as the same age or a few years older. I doubt theyd go with the expected mid 20s actress for Wonder Woman if this is all true. I thought they would before this announcement so I was thinking Gemma or an unknown, but now im thinking Blunt may get this.

With all this talk of Armitage, I now know how you felt when some of us were going on about Bentley not long ago. Any advice for making the pain stop? :oldrazz:

Armitrage he's 41 it's the only thing good i can say about him at least he's 41 it could be worst.

You seriously do not agree with Armitage being Batman do you? Voice your choice instead of continually dissing other people's...
