Are we are still pretending that Fassbender isn't Fox's guy? There is no proof as of right now that Days of Future Past is Fassbender's last X-Film. It's possible but I do not see an actor playing two hugely popular comicbook characters at the same time. Ryan Reynolds did not do that despite what fanboys like to believe as he only played one big character and Chris Evans was 4 years removed from the F4 movies and most don't even remember those films.

Michael Rosenbaum has a cameo as a Lexcorp janitor or something :D

Wait did The Wolverine flop? I haven't been following.

11 pages late, but it sure as hell did not. It got off to a slow start, but it had good legs and it made a decent profit. Nothing record breaking but in no way a flop. XMOW hurt it, and I guess some fatigue had a part to play, but it's doing more than decent numbers.

I like Mike, but I am actually indifferent to all things Smallville. Could not stand it. My casting of Sam W. is all about how good he is on Being Human and hearing some of his VO work.

It's highly unlikely he'd do it.

Whether he would want to, or whether he would be allowed to.

I don't think he could be stopped by Fox though.

WB should be offering that 50 Min to him instead of Bale :hehe:

I think Fox would try their damnest to stop Fassbender from playing Batman. It all depends on if Fassbender is signed for 3 movies of course.

I adore Fassy but he isn't worth 50mil. He has yet to be the lead in a big hit not named First Class. I think it's fun that he has worked with Cavill before though.

The fans think so :oldrazz:

However, like you said, it wouldn't happen if he's signed up to more XM films already.

Talent wise? Sure he is worth that much. Fassbender is terrific and he is a good addition to any film.

Fassbender is popular and talented. People would be able to move on from Bale no problem.

If he wins an Oscar for 12 years a Slave, that certainly won't hurt.

Just a nomination will do. Apparently everyone not named Henry Cavill had to have an Oscar nom at least to be in the movie. I'm just kidding of course.

Cavill got away with things because of his resemblance to the titular character :o

Superman is just a different character to cast than Batman. Unknown or very little knowns play Supes and semi known somewhat respected actors play Batman. It would be kinda interesting if Warners went with an unknown for Batman but I don't think they will.

to be fair batman is an easier character to get right aka be charmign and brooding lol

superman/clark kent is the type of character where an actor has to disappear in that role and become that character

You're doing a big disservice to the character of Batman, but what can I expect in Superman country? :o

I agree. Batman is easier to plan than Superman. Superman is a very difficult character to play. That is why Reeve's performance was genius and that is why Superman is such a difficult role to cast.

I don't think Superman is harder to play than Batman. Batman/Bruce Wayne is a much more varied and complex role. What is probably true is that Superman is a role that requires a very tightly defined "type" of actor. After all, the man himself is the icon. Batman, as an icon, consists of his cape and cowl, with other accoutrements. The actor underneath has a lot more latitude.

Joe M______o would be poor, because he lacks any notable skill as an actor, and he is too far removed from a Bruce Wayne "type". I don't know whether he was ever a genuine suggestion, or if people just wanted to post shirtless pictures of him.

Both of the roles have their challenges of course. I'm glad I never worshipped at the alter of any of the past actors who previously played these roles. It made it easier for me to accept new people, new people who of course did a good job IMHO. I'm not a new shiny thing is automatically better person.

I actually agree with your assessment, I just hope my fellow Superman fans don't take it the wrong way.

I'm surprised the Joe M thing got as popular as it did because I just don't see how he fits Batman. I just don't see it.

I found this genuinely funny.

I can't speak for others but he was a genuine suggestion. Specially cause I knew Snyder liked him (he even said he would be great in 300) and he was runner-up for Superman.

I'm not saying batman is easy to act but i just think batman is a character easier to be accepted by public bruce is very charming, charismatic and a bit cocky people eat up that personality look at pine's kirk, rdj's iron man, ford's han solo, etc.

and as batman he is a dark brooding bad ass who has no qualms of handing out beat downs - who doesn't love seeing a guy be a tough bad ass with a dark past look at wolverine

while clark is very soft spoken, respectful, humble, with that hint of innocence and that can come across as boring if not acted well(which was what i felt routh made him) not to mention supes is a boy scout i just feel it is a more challenging role to get right because imo it is a character that is judged far more harshly than batman solely due to reeve's iconic performance that is still legendary to this day

An unknown for Bruce would be fine if it was standalone, like Mos with Cavill or Hemsworth with Thor. the movie makes them a star afterwards.

With this movie though, you need someone who is already on Cavills level post MOS. Or else it'll feel like Cavill the star and XYZ the nobody.
