eh....what?
Not every story written before the Crisis is out of continuity. Unless it directly conflicts with current continuity, it's in continuity.Except that particular run is now Pre-Crisis.
Batman is not a killer in continuity.

Bats used to kill all the time.
This is one of my favorite kills.

This is like Batman shooting a guy in the foot in BEGINS.
How do you know that? It doesn't show. Maybe he was wearing a vest. Yeah. A bullet proof vest. That's it.Yeah, just like it. Except that this guy, you know, died.

True, but that story was written with the pre-crisis version of Jason Todd. So it's out of continuity.
Batman doesn't shoot the guy in BEGINS ... the thug is pulling the trigger, and to deflect it from hitting him head on, Batman grabs the thugs trigger hand and points the guy's hand w/ gun at the other guy's foot ... thus hitting him. Batman doesn't pick up the gun and shoot the guy ...This is like Batman shooting a guy in the foot in BEGINS.
Do yall watch these movies?
That aside, I'd hardly say shielding yourself using a bad guy is the same as killing someone. Batman wasn't the one pulling the trigger.
