Batman Forever: Dark Knight Edition

I have seen both edits.

They are only as similar as the source itself will allow it to be. As afar as reinserting footage and such.

The dark knight edition "remixes" the entire film. It's a much different film.

Don't get your hopes up on seeing the dark knight edition anytime soon.

Just so everyone knows, I'm DrakeRetro/Scissorpuppy. I am the one who first posted the news on the fan edit boards.

Before anyone say anything about " You said you would never come back to SHH" Yes I did say that, but I wanted to post on this topic to make sure everyone knows that the dark knight edition is not the same as any other
edit.

A professional editor in hollywood worked on this edit for over 2 years. It was edited on a high end editing system. I was at the "party" where it was first shown. 10 copies were given out, but I don't think this edit was ever inteneded to go beyond them. I have tried very hard to get a copy, but I haven't had any luck. That was almost 6 months ago when i saw it.

Chances are if someone claims to have this edit, they are A lying B have a different edit that they think is this one or C hustling you.

I think since most of the people involved in the edit work in Hollywood, they'd rather not release it and keep it to themselves. For fear of some sort of "blacklisting". I can say that next to the rumored pending schmacher edit, this is the best version of BF ever. And fits very much with the first two films.

If you have seen any of the superman part 2 footage on Youtube that "saloman" is doing ( I think that is his name ) you'll get an idea of the quality put into the Dark knight edit. Hopefully one day fans will be able to see this great edit.

The people who made it sound like ***** it is incredibly easy to release something online without anyone knowing who put it out.

The fans of the films would even pay for this...

seriously, it is all made up.

a copy would have ended up on the web.

I have an edit called Batman: The Dark Knight, but it doesn't have the two-face escape or the other features on it. It only surfaced a few days ago and it is pretty good, quick editing at the start.

it is an attempt to get someone to throw an edit together.

Yeah, like I've said previously "The Dark Knight" is a crappy 81 minute re-edit of the movie that actually eliminates footage. The Red Book Edition restores nearly half an hour of footage. Perhaps you are confusing "The Dark Knight" with "The Dark Knight Edition?" They are two different cuts of the movie. One is worthwhile, one is not.

I am not confused, I know what i saw.

Anyways, I'm not commenting on this anymore. You can belive it or not.
If this edit ever does leak you'll know it when you see it. It is a different edit than the red book edit. I haven't seen the other one, but I seriously doubt it's the same edit, The dark Knight edition is much longer than 81 mins.

How can FOREVER ever be a good film?
Its so bad its laughable. If you stripped all the crap away you would have about 30mins footage. I mean, you couldn't possibly have an ending.

DrakeRetro is a liar, why do you think we've made him leave before?

Forever is good. I think your mistaken it for Batman and Robin.

Excuse me? I am not a liar nore have I ever been made to leave this board.
Someone claiming to be me was banned. I choose to leave this board just as I am now.

I merly came here to tell people not to get two different edits of Batman Forever confused.

Anyways if this edit does ever surface I hope you enjoy it. I never claimed to have this edit, I said I had seen it. And that I was trying to get ahold of it. That was MONTHS ago on a totally different board. I never came to this board trying to "pass" any lies. This info was posted on this board by someone else, I saw this and that people were starting to confuse this edit for another, i just wanted to set the record straight on that.

I have no idea why there are so many hostle people on this board. It seems just because something has not "leaked" onto the net alot of you seem to think it doesn't exsist. Sorry that's not true. Example, The rare Darkman tv pilot is something not easily found on the net, but is also owned by some collectors. Just because someone doesn't feel like ( for whatever reason) putting something on the net, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Drake is NOT a liar. At all. I can vouch for the guy from BOF, which I used to frequent. He put up the same info there, and there, he'd have a rep to ruin if he was lying, so he isn't.

Anywho, I'll be starting my own Batman re-edit in a few months... And I only hope you'll like it.

My approach? To complete the Burton Batman trilogy...

What are you going to do differently? Do you have the deleted footage?

The good stuff in Batman Forever were cut out. Remember the whole subplot about Bruce's repressed memories and the "Red Book"? There was more to it and those deleted scenes would have made the movie darker and more interesting.

We learn that the reason Bruce became Batman is because he believed that he was responsible for his parents' death. At their wake, young Bruce read the last entry in his father's journal which said, Bruce insists on seeing a movie tonight. Young Bruce was horrifed by what he read and that's why he ran out into the storm. This led to his encounter with the bat in the cave.

Becoming Batman was a form of penance for Bruce, a way to show sorrow for "killing" his dear parents. That's why he could never find closure after getting revenge on the gunman. That's why he could never let go of Batman.

But after rediscovering the journal later in the story, Bruce learns that their death was not his fault at all. He didn’t read the rest of the entry when he was a boy. The last sentence says, But Martha and I have our hearts set on Zorro, so Bruce's cartoon will have to wait until next week. This revelation leads to Bruce’s redemption. He is finally able to reconcile his split personality, no longer tormented by his past and finally at peace with himself.
Exactly. And thats what I'll be bringing back, along with a few other things.

Also, I'm gonna try and have it, so that Two-Face in this film, is not the real Two-Face, meaning that Billy Dee Williams was the real Two-Face, and TLJ's portrayal is that of a pseudo-Two Face.

I know all this, and it WAS good stuff. But its surrounded by so much crap. I just can't see how you strip all that crap out and call it a movie though. I mean the entire last 30 minutes of the movie is totall lame. So if you strip that, you don't even have an ending. Do you see where i'm going with this?

Yes i do, no where, your just saying "nah it was crap" or "no it was lame", you dont support your points at all, you refuse to see the good in the film because you don't want to. Also there was nothing campy about Val Kilmer's, Nicole Kidman's, Pat Hingle's or Chris O'donnel's acting for 90% of the movie,. Jim Carrey was just being Jim Carrey, he is like that in most movies, the things that were campy were the stupid Looney Toons sounds. TLJ just didn't have a clue, he didn't know the character until he was approached, Joel gave me no chance.

You want me to support my claim? Have you seen the movie? The last 30 minutes are the worst!
A secret Bond style island with misslile command centre covered with ? marks? Are you serious?
Riddler is barely even the riddler. He's just Carrey making an ass out of himself again. Two-face cackling endlessly. The bad make-up on his face. The silly Robin and Sonar suits. You tell me, how exactly does that work?
