i sometimes wonder if theres ever going to be an uncut version of Batman Forever thats more darker and better

Heres hoping that we'll see something like that for the Blu-Ray release later this year (but thats not likely).

Yeah it's pretty much wishful thinking.

I just wish they'd release a directors cut of batman forever with all the deleted scenes reinserted. Then it would be a lot better. As is it is an alright movie though. Too bad he went on to make B&R which was just rubbish.

Batman Forever was just on TV the other day. Definitely some ingenious scenes in that film, although it really needed to tone down the cheese in favor of something a bit more moderate.

Damn, my secret nemesis strikes again, yellow smile man. :)

One thing I never understood from Forever was when Riddler and Two-Face were robbing the casino (at least I think it was a casino), Riddler asked Two-Face how to punch someone. The guys they punched were security guards who were just standing there waiting for it. My question is wouldn't they try to stop the bad guys since its their job?

Well, at that point I think its pretty obvious that Riidler and Two-Face have already overtaken the joint. So the guards are now hostages.

Batman Forever was my first Batman movie. I loved it when I was little. Val Kilmer did a great job as Batman. Jim Carrey was a wonderful Riddler. And then I saw the Michael Keaton Batman films and BF went down in enjoyment as I got older.

It was also somewhat amusing that Riddler ask Two-Face how to punch a guy. Shouldn't he know already with gaining some folks's minds? If you gain so many minds from other, you should know how to punch someone already. :oldrazz:

But that would take away from the humor of the scene. I liked the original plan where the riddler was going to hit the guy with his cane after he punched him since his punch didn't really work all that well. :hehe:

Meh, that scene to me, was a prime example of the 'sillyness' that permeated Schumacher's films.

What was actually filmed was this...

The Riddler punches the guy, badly, and shouts, "Ow!" clutching his hand. While he cowers, Two-Face punches the guard to the ground. The Riddler then grabs his cane and starts whacking him.

You can see bits of this in various trailers and TV ads.

That'd add a bit of a darker twist to it...

:hehe:

Batman Forever had potential.
It did, sadly.

But I'm actually at the point now, after I dunno HOW many hundreds of viewings, that I've completely stopped caring about anything concerning that movie. The things that used to bother me, don't anymore and the things I used to genuinely enjoy are gone as well. It's just become another boring movie from my childhood. The only reason I'd still watch it, other than to pass two otherwise even more useless hours, is Jim Carrey's performance. It's the only part of the film that still holds up after 13 years.

Agreed, i've analyzed it to death now, especially after the SE came out and I could see what he intended. It had massive potential to be better, but then so has every other batfilm, so ho-hum.

I'm gonna say this, while Schumacher may have messed up alot of stuff in this (Two-Face being too comedic, alot of neon, NIPPLES!) I enjoyed it alot. It's fun for being an exciting Batman movie, even if it isnt entirely faithful to the comics. I really think that if the Batman films of the 80s-90s had stopped on Forever, Schumacher would'nt get nearly as much crap as he does. Forever shouldnt even be put in the same category as B&R.

Also, great soundtrack. Come on, U2!!!
