Batman Forever

What was actually filmed was this...

The Riddler punches the guy, badly, and shouts, "Ow!" clutching his hand. While he cowers, Two-Face punches the guard to the ground. The Riddler then grabs his cane and starts whacking him.

You can see bits of this in various trailers and TV ads.

Thazzz what I meant man.

I'm gonna say this, while Schumacher may have messed up alot of stuff in this (Two-Face being too comedic, alot of neon, NIPPLES!) I enjoyed it alot. It's fun for being an exciting Batman movie, even if it isnt entirely faithful to the comics. I really think that if the Batman films of the 80s-90s had stopped on Forever, Schumacher would'nt get nearly as much crap as he does. Forever shouldnt even be put in the same category as B&R.

Also, great soundtrack. Come on, U2!!!
U2 owns all.:word:

Did we all establish that this was a very cool shot from "Forever"? :cwink::brucebat:

I did enjoy it when i was younger, but now the only thing I liked about it was the story behind bruce's choice to be batman and how robin affects it.

Robin was too old in my eyes even if he wasn't going to be a 12 year old in the movie he should have been at least 15.

Tommy lee jones as two face i thought did a good job.

It really could have been the best Batman movie ever.

Yes, when I saw the beginning (the "I get drive-through line" aside, but I do not think it's THAT terrible), the bank, I thought "Finally, Batman really fights!" that was cool. Bruce Wayne in Wayne Enterprises. I thought yes. But then it went downhill.

Still the best movie after Batman Begins and 89.

I did. I love the heroic music theme playing in that scene as well. Just fit him perfectly, especially with him not going to give up until he win or die trying to win. :batman:

I actually like Batman Forever very much. I think its a great movie.

I really like Batman Forever. It's a fun movie to watch whenever I'm sick of the dark and brooding Batman. I really feel that the positives outweigh the negatives but I'd still like to see a Director's Cut of the movie someday. I feel that Joel Schumacher is a good director and showed a lot of promise with Forever but somehow lost all common sense and went insane with B&R.

I'm honestly convinced that Schumacher smoked joints on the set of B&R and forgot how to direct.... and lost his common sense too. many of his other movies, even Batman Forever to an extent show that the guy can do interesting things.

:hehe:

Great post nonetheless

Batman Forever is the 2nd Best Batman movie of the preivous series and on of the best superhero movies ever. i think it's unfair that it get linke to the travesty that was Batman and Robin.

I would love a directors cut off BAtman forver with the aditional material and how Joel Shumacher envisioned it.

I'm really referring to the script and the cinematography and the cast, rather than the fight scenes. If you read the Peter David novelisation, you'll think, "Whoa.....if only."

I honestly think this was a very poorly executed film...Amazing in concept- but I am not as self-depressed and darkened as Burton's universe of Bat-existence...So FOREVER is by far my favorite Batman film of the original 4...

"Tear one off and scratch my head...What once was red, is black instead..."

Idk, maybe just because it was a pivotal part of my entire childhood- and because I spent just about every day that I stayed home sick from school watching it on repeat...I know that movie by heart, man- but it never gets old...NEVER...

Forever is one of the most watchable films I have ever come across. Certainly I've seen it more than any other film.

Same here...tie me to a chair and force me to watch one DVD on constant loop for the rest of my life- I may just have to make that selection be 'Forever'...It's got humor, action, comic book lineage that stays true for the most part...And COLORS...pretty COLORS...

I can watch BF anytime, and Ill still enjoy it, it has that good comforting summer of 95 nostalgic feel to it.

I can't think of many other films I could do that with...

AGREED...

does anyone else love the hotness, yet insignificance of Drew Barrymore's character in this movie? Also, the greatness of the song playing in Nygma's apartment in the scene where he comes home from killing Stickly-

"If you hate your boss at your job...But in your dreams you can BLOW HIS HEAD OFF...In your dreams show no mercy..."

brilliance...

Yeah, I love that song, and I love that Forever was supposed to be a more family-friendly Batman, yet has Drew Barrymore walking around in lingerie for no real reason....imagine when the Warner Bros. execs turned up on the set one day.

"Okay, Joel, everything seems to be reasonably acceptable here. Plenty of vehicles to be made into toys and no characters spitting black slime. Well, that will be all......what the--?! Is that Drew Barrymore wearing lingerie?! Why?!"

I'm 25% into the original Batman Forever script and its already better than the movie. Damn shame they chose to lighten up the material.
