good work!

He's actually not new, he was invented by Dan Slott in 2003. I'm very happy that Robinson decided to use of one Dan Slott's DC characters (If you havn't read it Arkham Asylum: Living Hell is a fantastic mini and a showcase of Dan Slott's awesome talents).

I really enjoyed the arc, first Batman arc I have read in years and enjoyed.

It's such a temptation that when a writers writes Batman they just use Joker or Penguin (Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze have both been overused recently too). When Batman has such a great back catelogue of rogues, new and old ones. I think Robinson has hopefully pushed forward other characters and villains who can be used apart from just the usuals.

yes! you are right! he was the business man who prefered arkham, to avoid jail!

This was a good time to really get back into the Batman titles. I thought Face to Face was really enjoyable from start to finish. The ending could have had a bit more build-up; it came too together a little too quickly. However, I like the possibilities it sets up. It's good to see a non-traditonal villain used in a high-profile story.

I liked the Shark's involvement too. I didn't remember where he came from at first, but that's cool that they're using one of Slott's characters and setting him up as a major threat. Looks like Bats' rogues gallery is actually set to expand in some interesting ways, which is an unusual treat in comics these days.

Kind of bothered me how they made The Great White Shark the mastermind behind this. I read Arkham Asylumn: Living Hell and I know what happened with Harvey and him but it is sort of dumb...and I do not recall Penguin even fleeing the city which bothered me as well...and the only time we have seen The Great White Shark was in Arkham Asylumn: Living Hell and Penguin was not even in it.

Everything was good but I think I need to re-read the whole arc to say that it ended well. :(

So... your problem is that the Great White Shark isn't well known?

No, my point is that it does not make sense.

At the end of Arkham Asylumn: Living Hell that concerns him, basically he becomes the 'man' around Arkham...nothing else.

You have to remember that they skipped an entire year. I'm guessing Penguin fleed Gotham in between Infinite Crisis and the One Year Later arcs. They'll probably cover it in 52, which is only on week number 8. And I highly, HIGHLY recommend that maxi-series to anyone and everyone.

I read Batman...and oh man was that some crazy stuff. I haven't read the mini that sort of introduces the Great White Shark...so, it kind of went a little over my head...but the way Batman handled that. Whew...that was some straight forward Batman stuff right there.

"Oh, and WHEN I catch Harvey Dent--of course he ISN'T Dent anymore, he's TWO-FACE. But when I CATCH him--and I WILL catch him--I'll TELL him what you DID. And then I'll BRING him HERE!"

Now that's worth price of admission alone.

And it looks like some people were right...
Bruce asked Tim if he could adopt him. And Tim accepted with a very large embrace and Bruce finally showed that he's a HUMAN BEING!!!

This was definitely a great One Year Later arc and a great set up for two AMAZING creative teams to take over the respective books. Morrison and Kubert on Batman...thats just.... *geekasm*

Yeah... and "Face the Face" shows him using his status around Arkham to influence the inmates, which carries over to when they escape from Arkham, which is how he orchestrated all of the stuff in the arc. I don't see how it doesn't make sense.

I guess it makes more sense when you consider him getting more respect than when he left off in Arkham Asylumn: Living Hell. Because at the end of that arc he was not the 'big man on campus' he was just one of them with a lot of respect; he finally gained respect that people like Two-Face did in Arkham.

Right, and that was a pretty long time before the current arc. Power shifts all the time in Gotham, it seems. Before the Shark, it was Black Mask who seized power suddenly and had even the likes of the Penguin on the run through his underworld connections. Black Mask was pretty small-time initially, too.

I loved Black Mask in Under The Hood up to OYL...a shame Catwoman kills him in one of her arcs.

Ummm didnt they mention in the beginning of the arc that Penguin had feld Gotham? So why is everyone making a big deal now?

blah blah story points blah blah. I hope they don't color Batman's cape & cowl blue in Detective.

I hope they do. It looks better with Kubert's style for some reason.

Let me recap what I have observd since One Yar later.

1.Batman has spent a year traveling the world with a 25 year old man [Dick] and a teenage Boy [Tim]......alright
[Leaving an ex-con villain in charge of "protecting" Gotham city]

2.Batman has recenlty hired Jason Bard as his "Daytime liaison".......alright.

3.his costume resembles Adam West 60s style......alright.

no offense to any fans, but Batman is doing really odd stuff. Not to mention hireing a man as your "Daytime" Liason [whatever that implys] sounds like their might be something more going on with Bard and Bruce Wayne......during the day.
Perhaps Morrison who loves the silver-age might bring back those homesexual undertones from that era. It would be interesting and new to find out if Batman might be bisexual.
