BvS Batman Physique Thread - Part 1

Regarding batfleck's build, I am really curious about how stealthy he'll be? I mean he's a really big guy (yeah, yeah, feel free to insert Bane meme :woot:) so I wonder if he'll do some silent takeouts, like in Batman's first patrolling night from "Batman Begins" for example, or will he just jump out of the shadows and beat a bunch of guys at once?

He strikes me more as a brawler this time.

He'll be a sneaky brawler:o Seriously though, they can't have a modern, non-schumacher Batman that doesn't sneak around some at least. I think we'll be really happy with his Batsness in this film, if I can be so optimistic!

In TDKR, he was a big guy (ferr yerr) and was still stealthy:

Oh, I am sure he'll be sneaky to some extent, I just can't see him being all "ninja" and master of stealth (I actually recall that being addressed in TDKR comic, it was a problem due to his age and weight), but it could be just me having this impression.

Ah, we posted at the same time.

True, (be the way - :hehe:), but it should be easier to pass that in an animated movie than in live action.

And, as I mentioned, it was actually addressed in the "TDKR" comic book.

Again, I am getting this impression from a still photo of batfleck, once we see him in motion it might all seem different.

Wilkison's quote about the importance of the suit being flexible gives me hope that we may see the most agile film representation of Batman yet!

Edit: They also address it in the TDKR movie, too. When he's sneaking around above some goons and one of them comments that "he never made noise before..."

Still really impressed by the physique Pratt was able to achieve for Star Lord. I think that'd be a good look for Batman as well.

In the end, unless it's shirtless. Them being cut is irrelevant. It's far more about size.

Stealth? Well in the movie they can make him as stealthy as they want. In reality that mass is going to slow you down. There is no way around it. Physics is in the way.

The majority of those YouTube fitness gurus posted are what people call "half natty".

Only Jones and possibly Guzman are natural. Lex sure as hell isn't natty and neither are the HodgeTwins who I believe are on TRT.

I'm fairly confident that Jonnie Candito and Michael Kory are natural.

It's definitely possible to get lean and muscular being natural, but it takes much, much longer. For a comic-book movie body it would take 3-5 years minimum, rather than the few months these actors get ready in.

Stumbled onto this great podcast discussion with Michael Blevins where he talks about Cavill, his training for MOS vs BvS, his diet, etc. But that's actually just a very small portion. He talks a lot about coaching people, cycling and crossfit, various dietary trends, he goes on to decry the obsession with abs in today's times and makes a valiant defense of Lance Armstrong.

Its worth a good listen though the material about Cavill and BvS is not a great lot, it is still insightful.

Ironic that he decries the obsession with abs when that seems to be one of Snyder's obsessions.

I thought the fake abs on the MoS suit were poorly done, the new suit seems to have fixed it somewhat but it's still not ideal.

I'm glad the Batman suit is comparatively toned down in that regards.

He wasn't talking suit just training wise.

And he made a distinction between actors and athletes. So for Cavill, of course he will get him abs. Because its only meant for showing.

He more complained about the obsession with abs even amongst athletes. He competes in many crossfit strength competitions and was like "fucck me if I don't care to have abs or my veins aren't showing". He said even athletes go for abs at the expense of strength and power. And that many folks even during the bulking stage want to have abs and don't want to wait till the cut.

He seems to feel very strongly about this. And even Armstrong, that bit of the discussion is kinda crazy.

Assuming that is really Ben, that is some pretty impressive lat development there

Ben's always had lats/back like that.

I don't know if he's had that definition though?

Honestly in most of the pics over the past year he's looked a little bloated, so again that's pretty impressive assuming that's all Ben.

Training room in the Batcave?

My body.

I think its Ben 100%. He was cut for a while, thats for this scene.

I think it can be no one but Affleck right? even though the face is not clear.

I thought it might be Cavill but realized Superman wouldn't be working out, only Batman would be.

And I wonder what's like a second set of that exercise. He's pulling the tire with a rope - does he then push it back into place and do another set. Or sprint to the other end of the room and then pull it from there to do a set that way.

Lol. That actually sounds like a good workout
