Batman:The Animated Series Tribute Thread

One of the best animated shows

What about the DVD's? I think all the seasons are out now, but I remember one that's not in any of the sets. It's a Ra's Al Ghul episode in which Ra's has taken on Talia's identity. I'm fairly sure I've watched all the dvd's, but I suppose I could've missed one...I remember Batman's line toward the end..."What are you complaining about?...She kissed ME..."

And I also found this description of another (?) episode entitled "Demon Reborn"

Batman comes to the rescue of Superman as Ra's Al Ghul, known as "The Demon" attempts to steal Superman's powers.

I don't see either of these on the dvd's....I find this disturbing.

I believe that episode where Ra's takes over Talia's body is a Batman Beyond episode isn't it?

Lord, BTAS. I grew up watching this, this is what did me in for Batman. A little elementary kid, watching Batman. For me this was my thing growing up Batman and Power Rangers, okay I was a dork. I loved all the superhero cartoons. Okay, now I feel old, but I loved it my favorite. Batgirl. I thought finally! A girl bats that kicks major ass, okay I didn't say it like that but basically the same manner. Catwoman and Ivy thought they rocked, and Harley made me laugh. :D fond... fond... fond memories.

Oh wow that last pic is great! I haven't ever seen it before. The top ones are very cool aswell.

I loved evrything about batman TAS. In fact I was introduced to batman via the movie followed by the animated series--which had the greatest impact. The dark-deco batman and the first robin--costumes are awesome, the batmobile was real nice--almost real...except that I feel the new "the batman" boatmobile is more functional. I mean...what's the purpose for such a large bonnet for BTAS? to house fighter plane engine? surely bat-world nanotechnology could replicate the physics in a more modest propulsion system. but nevertheless...the batmobile was raw awesome power. You could almost feel it's cold black steel just by watching it. great animation! as for bat's fantastically believable ninja.

A really good batman movie say Batman Begins sequel...would do best to personify bats as a dark person from BTAS. its really an ideal study of batman. it would have made batman creators really proud of their work exceeding expectations!

For all the fans of BTAS is highly recommend this book:

Paul Dini / Chip Kidd: Batman Animated

It has many illustrations and gives you a lot of background info about the show and hwo it came to be.

I watched the "Legends of the Dark Knight" episode yesterday. I laughed my ass off when they met that fruity little kid named Joel. Joel says "Who's talking about Batman? I love Batman. All those muscles, the tight rubber armor. And that flashy car. I heard it could drive up walls." The other kids say "Yeah sure, Joel." That is hilarious.

Just a quick note, sorry if this is old news or anything, but if you have Boomerang you can watch Batman The Animated Series everynight at midnight eastern time.

That is funny as hell. Great episode, I love it just to see Dick Sprang's style come to life.

I was thinking about the Clayface episode the other night, that was another where the animation just stood out, the first episode with him I mean, like when he's freaking out in front of all the tvs at the end and turning into all the characters he's been in his films and as Clayface, it was just beautiful animation.

I loved this show and own all 4 volumes. The characterization of the character was perfect and they hit on so many of the dynamic relationships in the Bat-universe.

We got a new Mr. Freeze origin and the creation of Harley Quinn. That's just badass.

edit: How could I not make special mention of Mark Hamill's masterful performance as the beloved Clown Prince of Crime.:joker:

let us not forget animated versions of Mad Love, The Laughing Fish, Demon's Quest, The Dark Knight Returns, a kickass Scarecrow redesign, the greatness that is Mark Hamill as Joker, and the dark deco look.

pure, simple, goodness.
and that's all just on the surface of the show.

Scarecrow's design in TNBA sucked. He looked like a grim shepard

that was his best look in my opinion. he looked completely freaky.
it was better than the one he had in his first appearance - Nothing to Fear. where he looked like the Scarecrow from Oz in a muted color scheme. nothing to freaky or disturbing about that.

BTNA redesign will always be my favorite.

I was so happy that my dad got this Batmobile from TAS but I wanted Returns Batmobile but my dad got this toy never the less I loved playing this Batmobile that came with Batman toy and BatPersuitjet, anyone remmeber this?

Yeah his 1st design sucked but the 2nd one was great

the second one was pretty good.
but can we agree that the Scarecrow had one of the best episodes EVER in the series with "Dreams In Darkness"?

it's my fave Scarecrow episode!
althought Never Fear and Over the Edge are some good ones too.

Over the Edge was incredible.
