I don't know why, but I love the idea of the trinity having capes initially. It really gives the Justice League a strong identity and differentiates them from other super hero teams.

Yeah, and it gives them kind of a regal look. Anyway WW does wear cloaks occasionally (she also seems to wear one in WW solo), so we'll most probably get a shot like that at one point.
