The FF comic is a lot less comedic than apologists like me seem to want to admit. I'm sure there are many instances of humour in GL comics that are ripe to be picked for this flick! For all we know, the final product will feature good, harmless FUN with a little drama and action to balance everything out! As many people constantly have told me (I don't know why I didn't listen to them before), we should see a film before we judge it! Give it a chance!

This is an attempt at sarcasm, I assume.

Really, don't call me or anyone else an apologist because we concede the fact that Fantastic Four is a more light-hearted title than its film predecessors. It's a fact. I, for one, am sick of having my fandom questioned because I don't blindly hate everything.

Surely the heads at Warner's can see that the serious-toned films of today are better received (even when they under perform at the box office) than the likes of Batman and Robin. Surely they remember that franchise killer.

I, too, liked 'Fantastic Four'... and figure, if it hadn't followed bigger-budget and more well-written fare like 'Spider-Man', 'X2' and 'Batman Begins', most people would have appreciated it a lot more.

Thing is... there's a difference between fun/comedic and downright farcical. 'FF' definitely had its flaws but the general heart of it was there. It works for me because it was essentially what it set out to be and laid the foundations for a (hopefully) superior sequel (save that god-awful title that's been touted).

These 'Green Lantern' rumours, on the other hand, are nothing like 'FF'. They are actively looking to turn the title into an SNL-style skit. How was 'FF' that bad? Seriously? Be a little more realistic...



Meanwhile, I'd love to know what Geoff Johns thinks of all this. That poor guy spent the last couple of years tightening up Green Lantern lore, removing outdated (read: goofy) elements and - essentially - laying the foundations for the characters to rise to filmable, Supes- and Batman-style motion picture glory. And for what? So Warner Bros can crap all over it?

I mean... the guy's undoubtedly the saviour of GL at the moment... so, if he can't influence the production, who can?

People are being "negative" because from the script review this movie sounds like a Jack Black comedy with a bunch of lame jokes thats only purpose are to mock the Green Lantern character. And the Green Lantern deserves much better. Its what I call raping the source material.

This movie is going to be horrible. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either in some SERIOUS denial, or suffers from a serious disease that ha permanently and irrepairably damaged their mental capacities.

SR is not a masterpiece and i thought F4 was ok so get your limited facts straight

Secondly i was pointing out that Sar the poster that is trying to say this adaption of GL is fine is doing so as a reaction to people accepting what he perceived to be the bastardization of the F4
