My friend and I were talking and we agree-this would work off great as an epic trilogy in the vein of Star Wars. Start it with Hal, then Kyle, and finally John.

You could start it off as a war film, have him get the ring, and show him learning from Sinestro in a simular manner of exposition that Spidey learned how to do his thing.

lol @ anyone who greenlights this. Comedic superhero movies have never really fared well (the few of them there are), thought serious superhero films have done exceptionally well. And of course, anyone who isn't aware that fans basically drive these films shouldn't be in the business at all, for they are lacking a great deal of competance.

I think a Green Lantern franchise could be awesome on screen with the obvious sci-fi elements and visuals that would play into it. Of course, this Smigel garbage is about 180 degrees away from what should be done with the character. I sincerely hope WB isn't considering this and is just screening potential treatments. You figure WB is smarter than this.

WB can't afford doing bombs anymore. Almost Every one of their summer tentpole movies this year kinda bombed. I think they'll be more careful in the future with any new projects. I'm thinking we're safe for now on this movie not getting made like this...... Surely someone at the studio will be fired because of this horrid year they had.

I can maybe see the appeal of making a gross-out superhero comedy with Jack Black... that kind of thing would probably become a moderate cult hit.

The thing is Green Lantern has so much more potential than that... a Green Lantern movie done RIGHT would be unlike anything the general public has ever seen before and could easily become the next Matrix.

I don't understand the logic behind this at all... its like settling for bread and water when someone has offered you a big juicy steak and some beers.

Clearly the studio has no confidence in the material or is completely unaware of its potential.

This is a huge slap in the face to Green Lantern fans.

I personally agree on every aspect.

Good Lord, that makes Catwoman sound... Less ****ty... The guy is right, wanna make a satyrical, tongue-in-cheek thing, make up a phony superhero, do something like Mystery Men or The Tick... GL may not be as popular as Batman or Spider-Man, but he has his loyal fans, if you´re gonna make something to totally piss them off, what´s the frikking point? Has B&R and CINO taught you nothing?

I was so angry when I read this review.

Why in the Hell would WB ok this script? I'm sure they won't but why waste any time with this writer? Is it because of the production company behind it?

WB is asking for trouble. You take something that has so much potential, and you make it into a slap-stick comedy? The hell is that all about? It's Catwoman and Batman & Robin all over again.

WB, you got Batman Begins. You got it right. Superman, though flawed, still has enough kicks in it to kick ass. But damn..
