Be Afraid...Be VERY afraid...Green Lantern Script Review

I'm sorry I must be somewhat out of the loop but what's CINO?

Catwoman In Name Only = CINO

Halle Berry's horrible Catwoman movie.

I've only recently started reading GL, but this is very upsetting. I'm guessing that they are going to route so as not to over-saturate the market with serious superhero flicks, but, as has been said before, there are so many other characters who could and should be translated to the big screen in a comedic way. GL has to much potential to set itself apart from the rest of the superhero pack by being the epic space adventure that it should be and I truly hope that we don't see that dream turned into a joke.

ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

How in the hell can The WB SCREW this up?! TELL ME HOW?! THOUSANDS OF AMAZING COMIC BOOK STORIES ARE ALREADY MADE! HOW CAN YOU TAKE GOLD AND TURN IT INTO A STEAMING PILE OF CRAP?!

I'm finding it hard to believe that DC Comics as after taking such a serious and commendable approach at their Superhero properties would throw all that out of the window when it came time to give Green Lantern his shine. I want Hal Jordan to have the same emotional fantastic silver screen treatment that Batman Begins and Superman Returns got. I'm a little more passionate about GL simply because he's never really gotten his opportunity to show his stuff and what he's all about like the big three have. He's been basically relegated to that "Green Laser beam guy from the super friends". EVEN THAT would be better than what they have planned for him!

A spectacular silver screen adaption could propel GL to the upper echelon of Superhero greatness, making him a house hold name right along side, Spider-man, Superman, and the rest. I'd really like to avoid another Catwoman and Son of the mask. Here's to hoping they dont Sully the Green Lantern name

Green Lantern Could be Star Wars meets Superman. Instead it will be Piss meets Crap...F***** Shame!
:supes:

Looks like GL's light finally went out in the Blackest Night...

Unfortunately, DC has nothing to say about it. The evil WB owns DC Comics, so if they see a DC character that they'd like to rape the hell out of, then they'll do so. And there's not much that anyone in DC, who knows or cares about said character, can do about it. That's why CINO happened, and that's why this atrocity is anywhere near the realm of possibility.

You're right. I shouldn't blame DC...oh wait yes I can, cause it was their stupid asses who signed the deal that lets The WB piss all over their legacy like it was a urinal at a Lakers game.

why couldn't they have just redone greatest american hero with JB...why do they have to go and make GL in Name only...because Catwoman needed a stupid companion to sit with her on the movies that should be burned mantle?

I swear to god they wont be happy until they castrate all of my heroes...God damn them. Damn them all to hell.

If they want comedy, then for ****s sake Plastic Man is right there.

God, I can only imagine how lame this will be, Jack Black´s smug face...the lame comedy...slapstick...

There is no way in hell I´m ever watching this movie, WB can go **** themselves.

Y'know what...? We can all jump up and down, rant and rave all we want but... if this is true... our reactions will be seen as nothing but fanboy angst.

Warner Bros. needs to wake up and the only way to do that, I'm afraid, is this:

Let them make this ******ed film...

AND WE'LL BOYCOTT THE DAMN THING!

The problem is that, out of curiosity, we would all still pay our money and see it... wouldn't we?

I'm so mad right now... but something has to be done and... short of murdering someone high up... the world's biggest boycott may have to be in order.

:(

see, most fans already did that with CINO. WB should've learned already. apparently it was all for nothing.

Wow. I think CINO has just been trounced as the "Dumbest Adaption Ever."

I couldn't even make it past the part where he "Isn't digging the Book of Oa".

This is the worst freakin' idea since Jar-Jar Binks, the last Matrix Movie, CINO, and the Charlie's Angels sequel (or the Basic Instinct sequel, for that matter).

This movie is henceforth known as GLINO....Green Lantern In Name Only.

Let the hating commence!!!

however, even though WB was stupid to hire this guy, I doubt that they would greenlight it. DC still has alot to say; I'm sure of it. That's why we haven't heard any real gossip on this franchise until now, besides some Jack Black comments a while back.

I'm sure WB is embarressed of this project. Even the head of WB told people at Comic Con that they want to pay respects to the movie franchises. We can scream and rant all we want, but we should wait and see if WB does greenlight this bad boy. If that's the case, then we can screw them.

Hmmmm, I said that in a thread a while back. I just don't know. I mean they've made some pretty crappy mistakes in the past. Deep in my heart I'd like to think they'd never do them again...especially with the more SERIOUS tones of their latest Films Batman Begins and Superman Returns (Which was waaaaay below my expectations, wont even buy the dvd),

Anyway...The Flash, Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight...ALL of those movies are going to be taking the realistic dramatic route. I can't believe that they would take GL one of the most fantastic properties out there and turn it into complete trash. Hasn't Spider-Man taught them anything?

STICK TO THE SOURCE MATERIAL...AND THEY WILL COME!!! :supes:

if they weren't planning on greenlighting something this stupid, why would they get a comedy guy in the first place?

face it: if this script exists, it's because WB WANTS to do a GL comedy.

and they WILL regret it. if not now, right after it tanks in the BO.

You guys wanna know the suckiest part about all this? There's a chance it could actually be a hit...

I live with a (usually respectable) comic store owner, who actually thinks the whole idea sounds funny... and he'd pay to see it.

:(

Was Nacho Libre a hit...think that but worse numbers.

The only way I'd accept this script is after a REAL Green Lantern movie was made and THEN they made a parody Scary/Date/Naked Gun/Airplane type movie afterwards.Actually, I still wouldn't accept it! No way in hell!!!

Making Green Lantern a comedy is just way off. For me the character is up there with Superman, at least when it comes to the comics, as people don't really know him outside of the comic circles, but they could with a movie. This script is just the wrong way of approaching it.

Green Lantern has a very rich legacy, so why mess up with it. I hardly think WB will go for something like this. I'd rather wait a long time to see a GL movie that pays respects to the character than...Seeing this script adapted into a movie. GL has incredible potential, so let's see it.
