Beau Garrett is Frankie Raye!

Yeah, it did.

Well thats pretty sad and childish, and merits no debate with you on any subject.

Done.

We know Story gave Doom his costume, we know that Story came on at the last minute and was given a script that he could not make very many changes to. We know that he had some power, but not all power, like most directors who are involved in preproduction of a movie.

That said, we don't know what bad things in the movie story was responsible for. While it's not likely he wrote the bird dropping scene or the toilet scene, it is possible, I suppose. He might have been able to take them out, but what arguement could he bring to Rothman for that? "It's f'ing retarted?" Probably not going to win any arguements. We simply don't know how much Story was responsible... we simply don't know what was outside of his power to change.

FF2, where he is intimitely involved in Preproduction and gets to approve the script is the acid test, it's the only way to be sure. We can argue from now until kingdom come that Story did or did not write or approve of the toilet scene. No proof either way. We can also argue whether it was funny or not, or whether it added anything meaningful to the movie or not for that same length of time, but FF2 will be the real, indisputable evidence of what Tim Story can and cannot do with the Fantastic Four.

As for crowdedness, I don't see how adding supporting cast members crowds anything. Eight characters? Most of whom are in romantic relationships? Hardly a dealbreaker, hardly at all. Also, keep in mind, Galactus likely won't be showing up until number 3, even then towards the end.

I agree with all that you've typed. I could probably put a disclaimer with all of my opinions.

*Final opinion will be after I watch the movie.:yay:

Cool. I'm flattered.

In other news, I think the actress in question is beautiful as well. I think it will be good to see her onscreen. :)

You mean this was actually a debate, I thought we all knew the director of FF blew chunks. He has his second chance, let's hope that he doesn't blow chunks twice.:word:

Boring for you, satisfying for me, and those who want to watch something more than a cute romp with empty characters in the theaters.:o You and I know that some people say the exact same thing about the Spider-Man movies and I remember you liking those. And are you implying that I only watch and like mindless popcorn films like F4?

His brother doesn't exist in my world. ;)
His brother is a spazz and his editing tricks annoy the hell out of me. Deja Vu sounds good but I'm not seeing it because of ADD Scott being at the helm. Nice to know you don't like that guy's movies...and enjoy your boring er good and thoughtful director!:oldrazz:

??? I happen to think he did a wonderful job of directing/writing/editing "Barbershop" when he is given that type of freedom with a movie, he has done extremely well. He has not been given that type of freedom on a movie since "Barbershop". My hope is that he has and will be given this type of freedom for the sequel to Fantastic Four. Until I have seen the movie, I will withold my opinion of his true directing ability. But I have never, and will never use the terms "f****** ******* or *blew chunks* to strengthen my opinion. Extremely crass, classless, and rude. Grow up!

So we disagree, get over it already.

Nevermind, fruitless disagreement is well, fruitless, and just not much fun.

So... Frankie Raye... a looker she is...

I think the angle with her going off to join Galactus as his new Herald at the end of 3 sounds interesting...

So... they now have 8 superhuman characters in a movie with less than a year to be made? Brilliant.:whatever:

With those freckles, Beau would have made a good Pepper Potts for the Iron Man movie.

I'm just hoping they wait for making Frankie into the female Human torch. It would be alittle silly at this point, but, it'll be great to Nova in a Surfer movie, both will have to wait for awhile IMO.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Frankie become Galactus' new herald without exhibiting Human Torch-like powers beforehand.
And I definitely can't see all this happening in one film.

it happened in a 30min cartoon... so dont see why it couldnt happen in a hr and half -2hr movie

Because (in my opinion) it didn't work in that 30 minute cartoon. It was just way too much, too quickly, and as a result sacrificed good characterization.

Frankie's character was very well-established before she discovered her powers.

Maybe if she takes it on her own to enter Reed's radiation chamber (from the 1st film) to try to gain powers...or if something along those lines happens...

But the Dr. Phineas Horton, creator of the original Human Torch-was-actually-Frankie's- Dad origin? Ain't gonna happen.

I'm kinda with you on this Mal, I'm mean it'd be cool to see the Original Torch, but, I'd have to say that because they have Frankie listed as a scientist in the movie I think that she's going to test Johnny somehow and end up getting exposed to his powers somehow.

ya there not going to do the real origin with the first human torch... i dont see that happening.. but wouldnt surprise me if she ignighted by the end of the movie... and replaced surfer.. wich would then set up for the spin off.. but i also wouldnt be surprised if she was just simply the name given to the girl who will be with johnny in this movie

I think this is the most likely scenario. The nurse skiing with Johnny was named Frankie Raye in the original France FF1 script. No powers, just a familiar (to fans) name.

First time I even noticed this thread...that I can remember.

When Galactus returned to Earth, desperate for sustenance, Frankie offered herself to him as a herald in order to save Earth, and for the chance to explore space. Galactus granted her a portion of the Power Cosmic and she departed Earth, without a backwards glance.

I can see it now. The torch trying to stop her from going with Galactus and chasing her up to the edge of the atmosphere before the lack of O2 makes him flame out and he starts falling to the ground. Who saves him?

Beau Garrett IS NOT Frankie Raye.
She just plays her in a superhero movie.

And a mighty fine looking one too. :D
