I think that reaction was more for Bryan than anything else....people like Daniel Bryan Danielson (i think its funny, sue me)

I remember how this thread got back when he was "released"

For a showing like that it would be because both guys could work and put on one hell of a showing. Bryan and Zigglers ppv match initially tied with Taker vs HBK II despite those two ALSO being good workers, two of the biggest stars in WWE, and the nostalgia/emotion factor. There's no way Bryan could get that kind of reaction from fans by himself. It was because he and Ziggler both went out there and tore it down. Then they did it again. Then they did it AGAIN.

The WWE has a backup plan in case Del Rio doesn't work and their names are Hunico, Epico and Ricardo Rodriguez (Del Rio's current announcer). I do remember all of the rumors of Del Rio (when he was Dos Caras) signing with the WWE only to find out that the rumors were not true and that was maddening.

wasnt jbl himself a rip off? and he never had good matches

He was a mediocre ring worker, but was damn good on the mic.
As a worker I only enjoyed him when he was just Bradshaw in the APA but like doc said JBL on the mic was a whole new thing an he knew how to get under peoples skin. The only thing I honestly miss about JBL though was him behind the announce desk.

his matches were meh, but he was always a brawler, not a finesse guy and the mic skills more than compensated for it

JBL was a perfect example of being almost a total waste in the ring, but just pure fire on the mic. I still wish he was with the company, if just to manage someone who still needs work on their charisma.

Now, when it comes to Ziggler, he's obviously not ready for the big title, but to work a main event program with Edge would only benefit both performers. Ziggler can work, and the man can sell like a mothereffer. I know some people don't think he has character, but considering the **** he was given by creative, he's really taken hold of the Dolph Ziggler name and ran away with it, sort of like 'DASHING' Cody Rhodes. Two done to death sorts of characters, but because of the talent behind them, they're working.

In short, Ziggler is great.:o

The Courier Journal in Louisville, Kentucky is reporting that an 18 year old man is suing World Wrestling Entertainment, Triple H and Dwayne Johnson for an injury he allegedly suffered in 2000 at the age of seven during the 2000 WWF Judgment Day PPV, which was headlined by Johnson vs. HHH in an Iron Man Match. According to the article, the crowd swarming after Triple H and Johnson brawled into the crowd caused a chain reaction that ended with a woman falling atop of the then-seven year old, causing knee and leg injuries.
The lawsuit was filed after the plaintiff, identified only as "Basham" in the article, required surgery on his knee recently. His attorney is claiming there is no statue of limitations for filing the lawsuit since "Basham" was a minor when he was allegedly hurt.
The lawsuit accuses the WWE of failing to properly stage the match and provide adequate security for its customers. Both Johnson and Triple H are accused of “reckless, willful and wanton conduct."
WWE declined to respond to media requests on the lawsuit, which was filmed this past Monday.

haven't been on for a few days
but this made my morning :awesome:

JBL was a decent worker when with the right guy IMO and actually got a better match out of the green WWE champion John Cena in 2005 than Kurt Angle.

Here's a question, it's no secret I am not a big fan of The Rock, but recently I've been looking back at some of his matches and I'm wondering, what would everyone say were his top 10 matches?

1.Rock vs Austin WM XIX
2.HHH vs The Rock Summerslam ( I.C title match)
3.Rock vs Mankind Royal Rumble ( I quit match)
4.Rock vs Lesner (summerslam, buildup to it was awesome)
5 Rock vs Kurt Angle (No Way out)

While I don't think he's ready for a title run,Ziggler is more then capable of having a title fued. This will only help his development and it offers something fresh instead of a rehash.

Good picks Kaleb. I was always a huge mark whenever Mankind and the Rock went head to head, so the 'I Quit' match still remains one of my favorites of all time.

The workrate was 'eh', but for sheer spectacle, you would have to include Rock/Hogan at 'Mania. That was incredible.

I'd say he's definitely the better in-ring wrestler between him and Del Rio.

Del Rio needs more time to develop in the ring. When he's on the mic, he's cool. In the ring, he's entertaining but I haven't been wow'd by him yet.

The Poughkeepsie Journal has published a new interview with former WWE superstar Matt Hardy. Here are some highlights of what Matt said about:

WWE's Main Goal, His Favorite Performer & The Sad State Of Tag Team Wrestling:

"It saddens me and it bothers me. Looking at WWE, their main goal right now is to search for the next big thing that can draw. John Cena is the guy that is the centerpiece.

"Randy Orton is probably my favorite performer right now. But they still can’t find that one person like a Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock that can spark the business to burn through the economy. That’s what they’re looking for and Vince, or WWE, isn’t going to focus on tag team wrestling or a cruiserweight division."

What's Changed The Most Since He First Joined WWE:

"What’s changed the most, by far, is true creative freedom. When we started with WWE, there was one writer, Vince Russo, and there was Ed Ferrara and those guys really dealt with the top five to eight guys in the company ... Now, they try to take so much control over what everybody does. You have to be able to walk a tight line without a net. Sometimes, you’ll fail miserably and sometimes, you’ll look great. Everything is so choreographed now, especially with promos."

His Brother Jeff's Legal Issues:

“There’s definitely a lot more to everything than meets the eye. I hate it for Jeff. So many people jump to conclusions and that’s where information and the Internet can be somewhat of a negative. With the Internet having such a strength, a snowball effect becomes a full-fledged storm.”

Former WWE and WCW star Paul Orndorff, 61, revealed this afternoon on the SIRIUS pro wrestling talk show Busted Open that he has cancer.

Program host Reby Sky disclosed the news on her Twitter account, writing:

"Orndorff: "I wasn't a very good politican. I wonder if I should have played the game" in reference to money & Vince McMahon... after revealing he just found out he has cancer. This is almost too intense; studio on the verge of tears here."

Orndorff was forced to retire from active wrestling in 1995 due to previous injuries suffered while working for WWE in the 1980s, with the entire right side of his body beginning to atrophy (eventually causing his arm and leg muscles to shrink).

- WWE has reportedly decided on a top six-match program for WrestleMania 27 which would mostly be new programs from what is being worked on right now. The top two matches would be John Cena vs. The Miz for the WWE Title and Wade Barrett vs. The Undertaker, which will play off Nexus' involvement in Taker being buried alive a few months ago.

This year the booking is a bit different as in years past, officials have had the top WrestleMania matches locked in and a direction laid out.

It's important to note that The Undertaker being ready for WrestleMania still isn't a sure thing.

- Unless WWE officials change direction and book a title change at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, current plans have Edge and The Miz as the two champions who will be defending going into the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

- Most people within WWE are positive about Triple H having more influence and power in the company these days. There's a feeling that while Triple H has had some power for years now, this will be the first year of what will be a transition from Vince McMahon to Triple H as the guy leading the company. The transition will likely be a very slow one as there is no indication that Vince is giving up power. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are considered to be the successors to Vince's throne, so to speak.

- You may remember a story last year about a female WWE employee, Global Licensing Coordinator Fara D'Angelo, who claimed she was sexually harassed by a married male co-worker around WrestleMania time. The co-worker was fired and D'Angelo left the company.

The lawsuit against WWE by D'Angelo was recently settled out of court with the terms undisclosed.

D'Angelo complained to her manager at WWE about the alleged sexual harassment and claimed she was encouraged to find another job somewhere else. She then went to WWE's Human Resources department and eventually left the company. D'Angelo said that WWE offered her a raise and promotion if she would drop the suit and return to work. She declined the offer and filed the suit, which was recently settled out of court.

- As noted before, Rey Mysterio has been pulled from this weekend's WWE live events and will be replaced by Big Show in matches against Alberto Del Rio. This is part of John Laurinaitis agreeing to give Mysterio an even easier schedule while he's working around the shoulder tear. Rey will continue to work all TV tapings and pay-per-view events but will be working limited live event dates for the time being.

- There's still no word yet on the severity of John Cena's hip injury or if he will return to ring action next week but with WWE officials really wanting him healthy enough to perform in the Royal Rumble match, it's likely he will be kept off live events until then. If he's healthy enough until then, Cena may work some TV matches.

Ive never seen that match ,and honestly Im in no hurry to see it.

Regarding SD spoilers:
Now that Kofi is IC champ again this opens the door for the heels again. Barrett, Del Rio and Rhodes could be in contention...Personally, I'd like to see Rhodes win it eventually, hold on to it, and then have Trent Barreta take the strap. Yes, my inner mark is talking.

Barrett attacking Show is interesting...I guess the "turning face" rumors were false which I'm happy about. Curious as to where this will go in the long run. I'm happy he's on SD though, however wouldn't he want payback on Punk?

Ziggler won't win the title at the Rumble but this definitely a nice/huge step up for him. It's nice that we're going to have two new names chasing/defending gold come the RR against two well known names in the form of Orton and Edge.
Looking forward to SD.

he needs more to his move set all i have seen from him is

Spinning Arm Breaker
Rope Step Enziguri

why are they insisting on miz vs cena - sure match will be good but it is predictible with the outcome and did'nt they have a feud on Raw before

Cena/Punk is new and fresh how do they expect to do this feud and a cena/miz feud in the next 3 months

just do Cena/Punk and Morrison/Miz/Orton/ 3 Way

Agreed.

I cant see Orton not walking out with the title after Royal Rumble, but then where do they go from their ( does Morrison win the rumble and challenge Orton?), if so where does that leave miz?

One of my favourite builds ever to a title match! the training vignettes were awesome.

Holy ****! :wow: Mania's 9 and 11 are quaking in their boots, they could lose their spot as worst Mania's ever!
