It seems like you have got some facts mixed up my friend. Goku is the one who has reached his peak since his series has ended and its creator has no intention of continuing the series while Superman's comics will continue to grow and expand and his power has been implied to be near unlimited if he decides to absorb extra solar energy.

Plus Superman's powers don't run out quicly since he is a solar battery in fact in some comics it has taken weeks for his powers to completly deplete.

That is the exact reason why I always put Superman over Goku.
I am sure Superman will last a while in a battle with Goku. Superman has the yellow sun as a pure energy source, and is rarely drained of his super powers. Goku will eventually drain of energy.

I like Goku just as much as the next guy, but Superman has a non-stop energy source.

Batman does win with prep time. That's the final law of the universe and it's ultimately true. Batman would need near infinity of prep time but then, with that much prep time, Batman could find a way to live forever also...then go back in time to defeat Superman and Goku.

But Goku wins here because you are forgetting Superman has reached the peak of his maturity and power and has even been depowered throught he years. Goku keeps getting new Super Saiyan levels when the plot demands it.

Also, Goku beat death on his own, Superman needed help...what would happen if Goku flew to a part of the galaxy where yellow sunlight didn't reach? Superman's solor power is stored in his cells and that runs out quickly into the middle of black space.

Thanks man. Sometimes I just get tired of the Goku vs. matches. They get kind of old. I like vs. matches but only good ones. DBZ characters are different as there is no in between for them. They either crush their opponent or get crushed themselves. Fanboys put them in matches to see them totally demolish their opponent (like in Vegeta vs. Spiderman from the archives) or get see them killed (like in Goku vs. Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet). Vegeta is going to blast Spidey into oblivion before he even thinks about his first move and who can beat a guy with an item that controls the universe. Thats right no one.

This isn't a bad match to begin with (in and of itself) but it's been done so many times it's just old. I've come to realize it's not even a match between Goku and Superman. (What Im about to say is in to way directed at Corinthian creator of this thread because I get the feeling he is just as tired of these threads as I am thats why this is the thread to end all) It's people pitting American animation against Japanese animation because they're so obsessed with one or the other that they can't stop to enjoy the other so they pit the best fighter from each universe against one another to prove theirs is better. And when they find Superman can't win they move on to another one of the thousands of DC and Marvel characters until they find one who can (see Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet). And when they find Goku can't win on his own they say he has absorbed the Dragon Balls (which really doesn't even make sense because it happened at the end of GT and we really don't know what happened or what Goku did because they neve rtold us and it ended) I watched all of the Dragonball/Z/GT trilogy and enjoyed every minute of it. But Im also a huge fan of the now cancelled JLU as well as BTAS. I like both anime and American superheroes. So it's not a big deal to me who wins but people should try to enjoy both for what they are.

So hey Superman vs. Goku isn't a terrible fight but lets give it a rest for a while.

I see people like Elijya try to make reasonable arguments. Then people who have never set foot outside of the anime forums write long diatribes like: "While he is Super Saiyajin 4, Son-Gokou's power is 19,000,000,000. Then, he and Shenlon combined and his power was raised to 35,000,000,000,000! He can blow holes through universes! That means he can kill people that can't die!" It kind of ruined Goku for me.

If both regular post crisis Superman from the comics or JLU or wherever and Super Saiyan 2 or 3 Goku were to fight in a made up arena on Earth were neither could leave until the match was finished my money would be on Goku. Other than that I have no idea. I don't feel like diving into Superman Primes, sun power ups, dragonball absorbtion, universe destruction or anything like that. Just a regular fight. Punches kicks and energy beams.

The problem is because these two are so powerful and have been around for so long there is no limit to what people claim they can do and you will never ever get to a clear cut winner. That is my point.

As everyone probably figured by now I like Superman over Goku but I believe that Goku is respectible as a hero and he does have some moments were he is pretty cool but Superman is a different type of hero. Superman is kind selfless and a vigil protector. He actually does things for people all over the world while goku fights of a threat then goes to training and he is strength and inspiration to all superheroes and people he comes in contact with even though he is so modest while Goku can be annoyingly cocky at times.

You are right about both being extremely powerful warrioirs and the both have their advantages and disadvantages but if the were to fight on earth I would say that Spes would have even more of the advantage since he can just move the fight to a sunny area and then have infinite stamina since his cells are constantly being restored while Goku gets tired and bloodied after five minutes of intense fighting.

The reason why I started to dislike DBZ(and started to like Superman actually) was because alot of people that watch DBZ think the know all about Superman just because the have seen a couple episodes of justice league while in comics its like he's a totally different guy with a the same costume. Then the go around saying that Goku would instantly kill everyone from the DC/Marvel universe in his sleep when they don't know that there are people in these comics that could destroy goku's universe in an instant. People just can't seem to except the fact that such an old hero like Supes can even match the DBZ Gang and the claim that Goku is stronger than Superman even though Supes feats of strength put him on par and even above SSJ4 and this is without a sun dip and his durability is far above Goku's. So it all comes down to logic and you must ask yourself who would win, the guy who is as strong as SSJ4 to begin with or the guy that has to take a five minute power level increase period to become that strong.

But then there are those people that love their DBZ so much that they completely overestimate their characters powers based on nothing which made me dislike the characters some and it just got really annoying to me so read some lists of the most impressive feats that Supes has done compared to Goku's actual feats a realised that Superman's far exceed Goku's but people still can't get over their whacky "Goku could destroy the entire universe theories".

Irrespective of powers and who's stronger, I think that Superman is more popular at this time so he will win. Actually I do not think that anyone really knows how powerful Superman really is since he has yet to fight an opponent in which he does not have to hold back his power to fight.
