Oooh... harsh. Anyway i thought you might be a Jade Goody fan BluTac??

I wasn't a fan, the woman had no talent, however I did sympathise with her to an extent and can see that her legacy (the whole 20% raise in people getting screened for cancer thing) is a positive one, but I still find jokes about her funny.

HAHAHAHAHA....:woot:

Funny that the media are blasting Michael Parkinson's recent comments about her, given that he criticises the media and not strictly Goody herself

Its funny the media criticizing Parky because when Goody was alive they where insulting her all the time. When she was in first in big brother alot of the same papers that are now calling her a saint where calling her an ignorant pig among other things. They where attacking Goody even more when the whole racist bully thing was going on. The media is the biggest hypocrites of all.

The media should go back to reporting the news and give up this overhyping sensationalism rubbish they have been doing lately.

The way the media tried to hype up the protesting before the G20 summit making out it was gonna be like world war 3 was embrassing. They tried to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Anyone watched the Charlie Brooker segment on Jady Goody? It's full of win.

But anyway, the weather looks like ass today. Anyone know the forecast for the weather in London this weekend? :/

Ah, bloody rain. And yeah, he so is. I'm a bit obsessed, though :|

Anyone see Inbetweeners last night?

Hey Blu-Tac, I saw your idea in the writing thread. That could be really interesting.

Thanks a lot hammy, I am really glad someone liked it. I had sort of decided in my head that people on here would all hate it, with it being kind of old fashioned. :D

I still find it humiliating that this thread is dumped in with all those dumb games. There's always more substantial discussion here than in the main Lounge, both or neither should be in the Community :cmad:

True, but at the end of the day this place is dying, whereas The Lounge will go on forever.

I'm sure if the Lounge was in the Diner the Loungers wouldn't post as much.

Anyone think the freaky Summer weather we're having is a pleasant surprise? It was snowing here this time last year

Okay, here's a question for you guys. As most Americans, I have a hard time distinguishing who is a Brit and who isn't. It's confusing. I thought ALL of you were Brits; English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish. But then I heard that Wales and Northern Ireland aren't considered British. Is that right? Please, edumacate me. :)

Ok. It doesn't help when certain people claim they are not British, when officially they are.

The full name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The UK = Great Britain + Northern Ireland
Great Britain = England, Scotland + Wales
Britain = England + Wales

The Republic of Ireland is a totally different nation altogether, it's part of Europe and has its own president. Northern Ireland is governed by the Queen and the British Prime Minister.

If a Welsh or Scotsman tries to tell you they aren't British, it's just them being awkward and stubborn (all to do the Scots wanting independence and the Welsh being very proud of being Welsh). Some people in NI want to be a part of RoI, which is mostly what the IRA terrorism was all about.

I just thought I'd drop in and say that I  Victorian England x10000000000.

Oh no not this question again....

That's the best explanation I've ever been given. Thanks. :)

union_jak is right although I think Great Britain and Britain are the same thing so Scotland is British. The Great part doesn't make a difference.
