The Punisher Ben Barnes IS Jigsaw

I think it was less the money, and more the personal validation those things gave him. The fact that he could say he came from nothing and had no one and was now living the high life.

That scene with the mirror in the finale, good grief. Maybe the most brutal thing I've seen in a superhero movie or show.

Arguably, that's the easiest way to hurt such a narcissistic and vain psychopath like Russo. Take away his moneymaker. Dude would've rather died than had his moneymaker jacked.

Hard to be sympathetic to him the way he treated his invalid mother, whether she was an absentee mother who gave him up for adoption or not.

That's the thing. That sick ass version of him was waiting just beneath that beautiful face of his. It's the equivalent of a working girl's makeup to hide the shame of what she does for a living. Anyway, I've got 2 episodes to go I think. I like how they've handled Russo. The friend angle is more interesting. Well...if you can call him a friend at all. He sure as hell was ready to get rid of Frank under the guise of helping.

That was absolutely the best Billy Russo/Jigsaw I've ever seen. And I have seen a lot of him. Year One spineless ex-hitman, War Zone frankeinstein, ass-clown under alias John Saint, MAX imprint codenamed Heavy as mastermind under radar...

This persona suits him best out of all. An ex-soldier who can hold his own against Frank with his own tactics. Plus the connection to Frank as not an underling, but an equal in rank. Everything looks awesome. Cant wait for his persona to go full Jigsaw once he regains consciousness.

Here’s the question: where do you rank Barnes’ Russo among the Marvel Villains we have seen?

For me he knocked D’onforio’s Kingpin from top billing and clearly set himself as the best. I looked forward to every scene he was in.

Russo, Fisk, and Kilgrave are the best villains in the MCU imo...People keep saying Marvel has a villain problem, im like not if you watch the shows lol.

Fisk is more intimidating to me than Thanos, to be honest.

Yeah, they are great villains. If I was ranking the Netflix baddies, I'd go:

1. Fisk
2. Kilgrave
3. Russo
4. Cottonmouth
5. Madame Gao
6. Mariah Dillard
7. (Evil) Elektra
8. Shades
9. Alexandra
10. Diamondback

Oh yea I forgot about Cottonmouth good call...The show dipped in quality just a bit after
they killed him off.

I think Russo might just be my favorite of the Marvel Netflix villains. That scene with the glass was just absolutely brutal and it was an amazing villain set up. One of the best I've ever seen.

I would say for me:

Wilson Fisk
Kilgrave
Billy Russo

Def a top 3 villain. Loved him.

1. Russo
2. Cottonmouth
3. Fisk
4. Kilgrave
5. Bad Electra

Mine would be

1. Fisk
2. Kilgrave
3. Russo

with Madame Gao being very close to the top 3.

The story of Billy Russo here seems inspired by that Don Juan DeMarco of killers from Spawn, the war buddy that kills the protagonist. I looked up every incarnation of Jigsaw from the comics, and found nothing similar.

I don't think Jigsaw was an amazing character in the comics, so revamping him for the show makes sense.

hands down one of the best mcu villains, that ending made me gasp in terror
one of the most brutal scenes i've seen in recent memory

really excited for season 2

I agree, I think the Netflix shows have the best villains in the MCU...Something about the more realistic, grounded and psychotic villains that make them scarier than the ones in the movies.
