Best action sequence in any comic book adaptation!!!!

Of all comic book adaptations in movies which would you say was the best and most accurate depiction of a comic book character in an action sequence regardless of how you feel about the movie as a whole?

Ang Lee's Hulk leaping wins by a country mile.

Or, if you don't think it counts as an action scene there's always...

the turtles always annoy me,

they have deadly weapons but don't use deadly force.

trying to be safe with a sword probably causes more problems than it solves.

Yea that's a good point. But TMNT 1990 was awesome, one of my favourite comic book movies ever. The scene where Mikey is like "Ohhh... a fellow chukker ay?" is just the epitome of bad ass.

I love this: Donny to Mikey, "Kitchen?" nods "Kitchen." "Porkrines?" nods "Porkrines."

Definitely agree with you.

+ Raph's rooftop fight is AMazing.

Yea Raph was my favourite. I loved that he always said "DAAAYYUMM!!!" That was like, his thing. :hehe:

HAHAHA yea that's legendary. Might have to watch this tonight, can't beat a bit of nostalgia.

Oh and one more moment of hilarity from that film...

When Raph is chasing Casey Jones and he slides over the cab.

Passenger: "What the hell was that?!?"
Cab driver: "Hmmm looked like a big turtle, in a trench-coat"

Get's me everytime :hehe:

I can't remember who says it but when April and Casey get into and argument leave the room and go in seperate rooms slamming the door, I think Donnie says, "It's kinda like...MOONLIGHTING." Which is hilarious if you have ever seen that show.

Na i've never seen it. But that was funny anyway. I only found out when I watched it again last year that Corey Feldmen did the voice for Donnie.

I've been thinking about this and probably the entire end of spiderman 1 has had me the most entertained. Even though it had the cliche 'bad guy winning then good guy gets second win' trollocks, it did really well with the suspense of the tram hold and the fact spidey was able to save both the tram and mj in one swoop.

it was a far better save than the train one in the second.

I'm surprised there wasn't a public save of people in the third with the black costume to see how spidey reacts to the everyday public in his black suit. Does he look down on them or does he liked to be worshipped as their idol.

Me too. I had no idea eventhough I watched Goonies, Lost Boys and Stand By Me when I was a kid.

Another great action sequence in a comic book movie is the scene for Marvel is got to be in Iron Man when he goes back to Afganisthan and beats the crap out of the war lord guys.

I'm with you on that one.

Hulk VS Abomination was possibly the greatest hero/villain smackdown ever. Righ up until he defeated him by choking him with a chain.

sPidey vs. Doc Ock on the building/train was probably the best choreographed and setting-wise.

sPidey & Gobby Jr VS Sandman & Venom wasn't so great on accuracy and built up from alot of the movie's flaws but was actually really good as far as final showdowns go.

Nightcrawler in the White House was beautiful.

X-Men VS Brotherhood on the Staue of Liberty made good with a personal showcase and teamwork effort. TLS's, while greater in scope was kid of silly. Magneto cold have crushed them all in the jet or at least fuse Wolverine into Colossus. We finally get to see an Iceman/Pyro standoff and what do they do? Just inch closer to each other, blasting away until Bobby ices up for the first time to...headbutt Pyro? Bleh! And while I loved his chase scene against Kitty, how did Juggernaut not at some point throw down with Colossus?

Transformer's final battle was insane and defined "action sequence".

the hulk and abomination didn't even have a slug fest

in the first attack hulk is pushed over and takes about four days to get up

then the hulk hits him multiple times with a car but it has no effect

abomination kicks him away

cut to about five minutes of some helicopter nonesence

another few minutes of some love hold between them

before you know it the hulk is choking abomination

these are supposed to be two guys who could take a city down with them in a fight and that's the best that happens, not even a single building brought down or destroyed, no cars chucked at each other, no pain or weight behind any of the blows.

I know it's the closest we've got to any kinda slugmatch in film but ive seen better fights in buffy and angel. Even buffy vs spike managed to bring a house down fighting...

Yea I didn't really like ANYTHING about TIH.

Even thought it was pretty crappy film, the part where Ghost Rider rides down the side of that building then smashes to the ground was epic.

I have to give it up for the Nightcrawler v. Secret Service scene... That was a masterful.

Superman saving the burning plane was great.

I also thought that the Spidey v. Doc Oc on the train was one of the best fight scenes.

Blade had some damn good fight sequences throughout. I have to give props to Snipes for his martial arts talents.

Hulk vs Tanks and Helicopters was very good... even though the movie SUCKED!!!

As a personal favorite, I always liked it when Toad schooled Cyclops, Storm and Jean in the Statue of Liberty (showed that you don't have to have high octane powers).

My favorites are:

- X1: Mystique vs. Wolverine
- X2: The dogfight scene with the X-Jet and the air force, Wolverine vs. Lady Deathstrike
- X3: Jean vs. Professor X
- Spiderman 2: Spidey vs. Doc Ock
- Spiderman 3: When Spidey saves Gwen Stacy
- The Hulk vs. Abomination
- Iron Man: When Tony escapes from the caves

Minus the last one...

You sir, have a a fine taste in violence. Bravo

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention the Leonardo v. Raphael roof top fight, in the animated TMNT movie. When Raph had Leo's swords trapped in the sais' prongs, I knew the sword break was coming... I was getting pumoped, and I called it out just before it happenned. My friends said "how did you know"... I said because I am a degenerate (used to be as much of a martial arts degenerate, as I am for comics).

Blade VS The Blood Club at the beginning was the best action sequence in any comic book movie. It's iconic.

That was a good one, but I prefer the part I posted on page 2, because it's one continuous camera shot with no cuts. I think that's pretty cool. :word:

the problem with the blade films is that you don't associate those battles with comic book encounters because there's nothing really comic-booky about it.

it's midly supernatural but it comes across more as a martial arts showcase, there aren't enough displays of 'powers' to break it up enough to stop you thinking it's a straight up kung fu flick.

that and maybe it takes nearly 2 films before anyone can make blade sweat in combat puts me off...
