What?! No one voted for Pateme from star wars episode3?:D

It was hard to choose. All those death scenes were good. Well most of them.
Boromir, Professor X and Captain Barbrossa

My TOP5:

1. Lester Burnham in American Beauty

2. Danny Vinyard in American History X

3. Billy Costigan in The Departed

4. Boramir in LOTR:FOTR

5. King-Kong in King-Kong

Again, all the movies of the list are from 1980 or so until our days. I dont know what happens with classic cinema in those forums. Peter Jackson's king kong in stead of the original? come on.

You should have made it a multiple choice poll. There are just so many to choose from.

But I went for the Professor X scene/X3. That scene was one of the few that stood out from the rest of the film. It put real emotion into the Phoenix. It almost made me cry. :csad:

Professor X/ X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Dark Phoenix knows how to kill, for her is like an art!

dude, you really like to make polls, dont you?
I found i got less hatred with my poll treads for they were more successful while sure i didn't get every great thing in every great movie. I kinda like this type of thread posting best. Talking about movies.

A lot of great ones. Off the top of my head:

Every death scene in Goodfellas & True Romance
Walter Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The Nazis in Raiders Of The Lost Ark
Dick O'Holloran in The Shining
The photographer in The Omen
Marvin in Pulp Fiction
Matt Damon in The Departed
Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Moe Green in The Godfather
Don Fanucci in The Godfather Part II
Marion Crane in Psycho
Kane in Alien
Hudson in Aliens

Out of all those, King Kong's death really tore me up inside. Literally. I felt a painfully uncomfortable stomachache afterwards. He just had to do a slow-mo. :cmad: :csad:

Besides those listed, McMurphy's death in One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest ties with. I didn't expect such a tragic ending, yet joyful at the same time, so it's mixed feelings.

A bittersweet life, the main character has been stabbed about 10 times, then kills someone, travles to a club, kills a load more people, gets shot through the head, then gets up again and kills more people, before finished off a fewm ore people after being shot to pieces by an AK47. Finally a random guy comes in and executes him.

(I know it sounds weird, but it makes perfect sense how he doesn't die, please watch as it's an awesome film that's gorgeous!)

3 way tie between Maxamus, Spock, and the T-800 in T2.

Kong's death is my favorite.

And Charles' death in X3 was laughable. Literally. I can't help but think it's funny when I see it. Though I will admit, when I first saw it, I was upset, nearly walk-out-of-the-theater upset, but that was because of the terrible way it was handled.

I have to say I didn't expect Professor X to explode into a million pieces, but hey! It was awesome!

I haven't seen The Punisher film...I'm waiting on the special edition DVD in November. But I'm sure Travolta makes it a good death scene.

Kong's death was ABSOLUTELY teriffic...and the music! OH the music! I love it all! So sad and emotional. I loved it!

Boramir's was pretty good.

Captain Jack's and Barbossa's were both pretty good, but unexpected. (Well, I expected Barbossa to die in POTC1 but I did NOT expect Jack to do in POTC2)

Yoda and Vader's are both great.

There's so many typos that I wanna die.

My vote for "Best Death Scene" has to go to Maxamus in The Gladiator. He got his revenge and he got to be with his family.

Another great death scene was V's for V for Vendetta.

King Kong 2005.

The Empire State Building Sequence is the most moving, and all around greatest sequence ever captured on film. Everything about it defies perfection.

Three way tie between:

Maximus Aurelius, Simba's father: 'Mufasa', and King-Kong in the original.
