I'm still gonna compartmentalize Dracula and Nosferatu even though they're very similar. Gary Oldman is still # 1 for me as far as Dracula goes but Bill Skarsgard's Orlok might be the best performance of them all. That falls in line with Heath Ledger's Joker where I wouldn't even know it was Skarsgard if I went in to the movie completely blind and didn't know who was playing Orlok.
True, but even so I think there are enough significant differences to make Nosferatu stand apart from Dracula. Just to name a few, Orlok never makes any attempt to use his powers to appear younger, the Lucy storyline is entirely changed, Orlok doesn't return to his castle in the end like Dracula does, Ellen dies and Mina lives, etc.I mean, the OG Nosferatu almost became lost media because they tried to get around the Dracula rights, but didn't make it different enough and the Stoker estate had most of the copies of film destroyed.
