But next to her then Kurt Russell's Ego is a close second I guess I say that because I am a huge Kurt Russell fan LMAO

I liked them all, but at the same time, they were all a bit underwhelming and could've been more. Still, had to give it to Hela since Blanchett got to join in on all the humor AND still feel like a threat. Russell did too, to a lesser degree, but Blanchett seemed to revel in it more.

For me it would be Vulture, easily. Hela and Ego were great though.

Tie between Hela and Ego for me but all three were great.

All 3 were solid enough and a big improvement for Marvel imo

Vulture's my second favorite but it was close. If he had a really awesome fight sequence with Spider-Man, I probably would've voted for him.

I never agreed with the "marvel villain problem" especially when other comicbook films seem to have worse villains that don't get as much backlash. All 3 were great but Vulture takes it for me. That scene in the car is honestly one of the best scenes in all of the MCU imo.

I'd then rank Hela 2nd only because of how brutal she was. You hear the MCU is for kiddies but a few things she did were pretty graphic.

Last would be Ego but I liked him just as much as the other 2. The almighty being who thinks what he did was so beneath him that it wasn't a big deal at all.

I think Vulture is the better written villain by far. To me, Hela was underwritten, she just has the advantage of having a compelling personality. That makes me have to go with Vulture. Ego was fun, but the final fight scene dragged things down too much.

Hela by a long shot, and Ego and Vulture were fantastic villains so this is no knock on them. Hela is probably the first Marvel villain that appeared to be undefeatable by the protagonist. There is a great cost in defeating her. There's no quick easy solution to this one.

Hela > Ego > Vulture

All solid villains though but Hela is just awesome, she's kinda like a classic Disney villain which is great.

Best villain?
Vulture > Hela > Ego

Best character?
Ego > Vulture > Hela

I have to go with Hela because she was incredible to watch onscreen and was played wonderfully by Cate Blanchett, plus she was tremendously threatening and had lots of personality. At the same time, I thought Vulture and Ego were also terrific villains, and I only picked Hela because I found her especially good, not because I found anything wrong with Vulture or Ego.

Truthfully, all three of this year's MCU villains were very good, so you can easily make an argument for any of them. I think Marvel has been stepping up its game lately with its newer villains. Last year when I watched Captain America: Civil War, I thought that Zemo was a step in the right direction. This year, I thought that Ego in GOTG2 was another step in the right direction, and I thought that both Vulture and Hela were excellent.

Very well said

All three would be underwritten, forgettable villains if it wasn't for the memorable performances of the actors playing them. That said, I think Ego is the one that comes closest to being an actual decent character, so he's the one who gets my vote.

1. Vulture (he got the most complete/complex character, was intimidating, and Michael Keaton was awesome).

2. Hela (Cate Blanchett was a joy to watch and Hela was entertaining. But she was underused imo and her motives were fairly generic).

3. Ego (He's probably the most twisted of the three. But a lot of why he's good comes down to Kurt Russell's great performance).

Yes, I was very glad to see Kurt Russell put in a solid performance. Thought he might be phoning it in at this stage lol.

Good comparison:up:

And agreed with your order.

Ego and Hela both have the same issue for me. They're basically paper-thin characters that don't have much going for them script-wise (Ego actually might have a bit more meat to him as a character than Hela does). They get by pretty much solely on the performances of the actors.

Vulture by contrast, has a great actor performance and he's a better-written character and gets more focus on him. The combination makes him the best of the bunch imo.

It's getting really close between Vulture and Hela

I went with the Vulture as he felt the most three-dimensional, but a strong case can be made for Ego and Hela due to them having more of a personal impact on their respective heroes.

It's nice that it's actually a choice of 3 good villains that are all worthy of consideration.

My choice goes to Hela. Very powerful, so well acted, tightly connected to the setting and having a lot of impact.

Hela, though Vulture was close. Hela actually accomplished the most out of the three. I gotta say, the Marvel villains this phase have been a fair improvement over the previous phase. I think it helps a lot that they've managed to tie most of them into the heroes personally, as opposed to them being generic "mwa-ha-ha" baddies!

It's a bit unfair because i haven't seen Vulture yet but i heard very good things about him. Ego i thought was good but i think Hela takes the cake for me. Even though she doesn't have the most fleshed out and nuanced character, she is just evil, menacing, ruthless and pure darkness. She is also very appealing in many ways. Her design is spotless...
