No.

I just know that anyone who likes movies like that isn't worth a bottle of my piss and it's irritating to listen to them spout off like they are.
Ah, 'cause thinking=hiding and intellect=cowardice. Sounds like I've got it down.

Welcome to the internet.

Why the hell am I going to think about a goddman movie!?!?! If it didn't entertain me the first time the phuck am I going to take even more time to think about it and allow it to take a piece of my mind. Piss on that, you stupid phucking pieces of dog **** want me to take time to appreciate this then pay up! Otherwise, piss off - my word IS RIGHT AND IS BEST and I know it and I can prove it.

Thinking about something just means your hiding behind it you chicken **** *****.

You need to go back to the IMDB boards.

I don't see why any mods haven't banned you yet.

Listen here, when it comes to film I'm stuck in the middle. I'm above the general audience but I'm not up there with the elitist film snobs. I like both mindless action flicks as well as thought provoking movies, foreign films(which I need to watch more of in the future) and even documentaries at times. I'm sorry but as much as I enjoyed on some level, some of the films on your list...I still won't deny that they are subpar to bad films.

What most of these other posters are saying is the truth, not to mention a more mature, experienced perspective and understanding of film. Which is why you can't be in your late teens or older, if you are then I truly feel sorry for you because you aren't maturing as fast as you should be.

I get infracted all over the place, and this guy hasn't even been banned yet. SHH Mods at work.

WTF is 'intellect' but a word?

And yeah - thinking=hiding and intellect=cowardice. People in the thick of things really don't have time to think. AND.. if you're in the thick of things, well, you're less cowardly than those who aren't.

I HATE GUTLESS EDUCATED FOOLS!!!!

Ah, you're an uneducated Vietnam veteran with severe PTSD who views everything as some sort of battlefield. I get it now.

There he go telling us that our taste is wrong because we like different films than him. :funny:

Since what's his name is on a probationary ban can we just get rid of this thread and let Evil Twin redo it with a better selection?

Did you delete his posts about the holocaust? I'd be surprised if that didn't get him banned just on principle.

Actually given the amount of crap in this thread I think it's best to just trash it all together and start over. I am now reading through all of his posts.

Yeah, and like Figs said Evil Twin will just start a new one with a proper poll. None of us realized that this dude would flip **** and start trolling.

Seems like a lot of work, just to reannoint LotR the winner. But, might be worth it just to hide the trainwreck the last few pages have been and actually talk about the movies of 2001. Whatever else I can say, I still think these are a fine idea for a series of polls.

There definitely needs to be some sort of general organization thread so that a reasonable concensus can be made for what needs to be on the poll. There always are going to be some controversial bubble movies, but since this type of poll is a group process, why not try to be inclusive in the process and give people a say up front?

Edit: Frankly, I think it's a great thing that two people can look at the same movie have have widely divergent views. Who wants to live in a hive mind? I learned that when I saw Blue Velvet in the 1980s.

Whatever works. If some of you want to brainstorm together on what movies should make the list before starting a new thread that would be cool.

May God have mercy on your soul and brain cells.

My top 5....

1. The Fellowship of the Ring
2. Black Hawk Down
3. Shrek
4. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
5. Jurassic Park III (hey, shut up, I liked it! :cmad:)

Have you seen Siskel and Eberts review of Blue Velvet? It's a great example of the best kind of film discussion.

Yeah, the Siskel and Ebert Blue Velvet review debate is the stuff of legends.

Ok I am closing this, I think the idea of actually getting a consensus on what should make the list first is a good idea.
