Or do you feel that some characters are only sidekicks in the comics, but in the films; they're portrayed far differently?

Overall, whose the best sidekick? It can be a superhero or an everyday individual.

I would say that, in the MCU, there are no sidekicks, there are just heroes who are lower level who were inspired/trained/empowered by other higher level heroes.
